I suppose Antrim won't field in Ulster championship game in Newry either.

Think Antrim will be togged out ok, it's whether Armagh turn up is the problem
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

I don't know what game you were looking at

Poacher on Off the Ball this week saying new rules brought in because of Ulster success.
Maybe he should have been on other calls trying to find 15 players...

them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

While I do have alot of sympathy for Leitrim , I remember Fermanagh having to go to Clare in the league during lockdown football with no spectators , after a lot of the players had or were recovering from Covid , and alot of pressure being put on them by higher ups within the Gaa to fulfill the fixture for the integrity of the league
Wanted.  Forwards to take frees.
Not fussy.  Any sort of ability will be considered

Great win for us against Kildare. That guarantees us promotion now. Even if loose to Clare next week and Kildare beat Antrim we qualify on score difference. Will be Kildare again in two weeks. I think Kildare are holding back for the league final on two weeks as guaranteed the win against Antrim.

A lot of guarantees in there!

Clare need to beat Offaly by 11pts, not impossible.

He was on a podcast a few years saying Waterford shouldn't bother travelling to Down for a Tailtean Cup game and save them 6 or 7 grand.

Still work to do against Clare but credit where it's due to Mickey Harte and the improvement he's done with Offaly since he arrived,  worth remembering in May Offaly lost at home to London 2-20 to 0-12.

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Oh I wish that was true. Old habits die hard and Kildare reverted to stupid play today.
Offaly tore us apart at times and left a fair few scores behind.
Some of our experienced lads hid whike the youngsters stood up.

Good win for us yesterday. We played some great football in 1st half but let Antrim back into it second half. It was such an important win given our underage success to maintain the slow progress. That should see us stay up unless Leitrim spring a huge shock and Antrim catch Kildare which is unlikely. Kildare are falling over the line.

Mickey Harte has had some impact at Offaly along with our own Luke Bree to get them all but promoted.

It is sad to see what it happening at Leitrim. Graham obviously seen what was coming. But I don't know why all those players who didn't commit went to all that effort last few years under Moran to get promoted and then leave the set up. Just bizarre. They prioritise the u20s which is fair enough and the injuries are unpredictable. I think they should have enlisted a few club players just to fulfill the fixture at all costs. They ran Offaly close the week before which makes it even more strange. They should have planned for the u20s leaving the set up.

Leitrim must be spending some money on that backroom team. Poacher after everything criticising the new rules. He has some neck.

I could be wrong and please correct me if so, but my understanding is that the deal with the GPA in terms of what intercounty players get once they commit to a panel makes that very impractical now. Once you are registered to be part of a panel for the league or championship with Croke Park, there's a raft of stuff in terms of gear, mileage, grants, boots and probably more, and there's no exceptions, so you can't just say that we only need this lad for a couple of weeks and he'll be gone then.

Essentially each player registered is a significant expense, and when you're a county like Leitrim that has to mind the pennies, drafting up five or six lads to simply fulfil a fixture isn't a good use of those scarce pennies.

I'll stress again, I'm far from certain of this so please shout if I'm mistaken, but I've definitely heard some version of this before.

The Boy Wonder

Whatever procedures are in place for registering players there should be enough flexibility to allow players be added to the panel during the season.

There should also be strong deterrents so that counties do not give walkovers as Leitrim did.

Should be? Yep, absolutely.

That's not the same as saying that such flexibility actually does exist though.
