You must be some player yourself.

Have to agree with EC, Tommy has slipped down the pecking order and wouldnt have played much of a part in the first team.  Few of the young fellas have moved above him

As he has been out and his knee problems known about it is not a major blow for Mickeys plans, that is not taking away from his ability when fit but Mickey, I am sure, will have been planning without him.
Losing Kyle to a long term injury when he has been top scoring would be considered a major blow as he would have been very much in Mickeys plans.

You are taking me out of context. I very much doubt if he would have been a starter this year in championship. A squad player. Coney and R.O'Neill are 'major blows'.

Was not going to bite originally but f#ck it.

You post is totally disrespectful to a lad who suffered a terrible injury.

Mickey Harte would have been well glad of a fully fit Tommy come summer time.

If he was from Errigal you wouldn't be posting such drivel....

Tommy's a class act and if he was 100% fit (which he hasn't been for a long time now) he'd be one you'd want on the starting side. You always hoped he'd shake off whatever it was troubling him by mid-Summer.

I agree, wouldn't be in the top 6 best forwards in the county.  Hope everything goes well in his recovery though and he gets back playing with Ardboe this summer.

Listen, I am not trying to be disrespectful to the player. I am just trying to be a realist. He is a great player and has given Tyrone a lot over the years but at this stage, even if fully fit, I don't think he is a starting 15 player. There are probably a few on the bench who would get the nod before him. He is a loss to the Tyrone panel no doubt. The point I was making is 'major blow' is not a term that applies to this case. OK?

LAP THE LOUGH

Name the few on the bench who would keep a fit Tommy mcguigan off the team

EC Unique

Well he would be looking into the forwards somewhere. So would the following:

Penrose
Mugsey
S O'Niell
M. Donnelly
N. McKenna
S. Cavanagh
C Cavanagh
R. McNabb
Matt Donnelly

plus up until recently Cooney and R.O'Niell.

I haver probably missed out a couple more but I don't think he would have started and 1 or 2 ahead of him on the bench. Just my opinion.

It is hard to answer your question directly as who knows who the first 6 would be?

Personally i would rate him miles ahead of Colm Cavanagh, also would have him ahead of Mark and Matt Donnelly, Niall McKenna and McNabb. Everybody is going to have their own opinion on this but in my view a fully fit Tommy is some asset to the Tyrone forward line both as a targetman or in a roving role around the middle.
