I see the crowd in Newbridge reported as "4,500 estimated" :o
That is an appalling figure if true.
Any official figure?

20,116 in Castlebar yesterday.
The official attendance was 18,711.

Extremely poor attendance, where has the great Mayo support gone? Sure they even had T.Ds complaining in the Dail for people who couldnt get tickets for the All Ireland Final.

They can make themselves look good travelling, why is that, the day trip event junkie, the glamour of the away tie...

Its an interesting one.

Féile was on.

Every part time farmer working round the clock to get silage & bog sorted in the good weather.

If 15k Mayos there that's 11.5% of population.

If 40k Dubs at Leinster final out of 1,350,000 population....represents less than 3% bothering.

There are not 1.35 Million Dublin fans, just like there isnt 1.35 Million male GAA players between the ages of 18-32 who play senior club football and are good at football. Population argument a non runner my friend. Just like there isnt 550K Cork football fans or 620K Antrim hurling fans.

Cork and Antrim never had a big support in my lifetime. Dublin had.

Mayo don't have 130,000 football supporters either but have a proportionally bigger support than Dublin. You commenting on an "extremely poor" Mayo support last Saturday is quite amusing.

I thought Dublin could fill Croke Park on their own  ::)

I have me doubts iff all the kids were counted in the Castlebar figure  the were gangs of feile teams all around the  ground it felt fuller than the roscommom game when they announced over 20k.
point about the mayo  fans is the consistently bring 4-5 k even for away  league games  and 10-12 for home ones . the rest are like other counties day trippers and families etc which is very dependent on the opposition the weather the stage of the competition .
the weather was OK but a round 3 qualifier again a division 2/3  is not going to get the public over excited yet
If you make yourself understood, you're always speaking well. Moliere

130k living in the county, most of them are in Dublin, something i have noticed over the last few years when they came out of the woodwork for the all ireland finals.

iv mentioned it before, Dublin footballs hardcore support is 20-25K. 25-35K with the casuals and up with the blow ins. Its a minority.

Not sure about that, i have been lucky to see my club win the club twice in the last few years there, a great day out.

poor enough for ulster considering there was an extra game which had over 20k at it.

Keyser soze

Why would anyone attend a sport that all its commentators on TV, print and SM roundly condemn as a crap 'product'. Maybe a more positive vibe from the sidelines might do more to promote the game in a positive light and help attendances.

135000/9 games is an average of nearly 15,000 per game.  Not bad at all.
There are no proofs, only opinions.

Rossfan

Average per game rounded
MSHC 25,500
LSHC 13,000
USFC 13,900
LSFC 10,800
CSFC 10,250
MSFC 6,100.
Have seen hardly any figures for the 3 Rounds of Qualifiers but going by those I have seen and the empty stadia on the bits of TV highlights (apart from the Monaghan and Mayowestros games) -would the 20 games have attracted 100,000??
