Still not rosy in the Cappagh garden...

https://ulsterherald.com/2019/04/11/killyclogher-still-hunting-a-full-time-manager/

Are you just going to pick on Killyclogher all the time. What about your own club? i hear Omagh had to draft in a trainer at late notice as current players arent impressed with Carl so far. If Killyclogher had have won the first few games there wouldnt be a word out of you. Few men going to America in the summer and you make it out to be a crisis.

He's not from Omagh, look at the avatar.
Carl will be fine once he gets a few injured players back

Ex Omagh living in the Lough.

Sure its not all about money good luck to anyone who goes, good learning experience imo.
I didn't say it wasn't a great learning experience or anything but the rumoured wage packets such county/ex-county players get may just make the trip over that bit more appealing.

great point - we have never had that one on the forum before   :-X

Mark Bradley amongst them?

Yes

Bradley/ Sean Fox/ Fergal Meenagh and Nathan Donnelly all heading to the States,
Tiarnan Cox out injured for a wile, Tee McCann injured, Wallace hasn't appeared yet and not exactly what the story is with him, James Carlin retired with injury and no manager. Id still expect them to turn things around big time come August/September time!

Killyclogher lads have their league medals. They aren't interested in that anymore. They are in the good position of knowing they'll have enough points come August in the bag to put full effort into the Championship.

That said, the players / managers going isn't a great start -- but sure look at Coalisland last year.....it's only round 1.

I seen that Killyclogher played without their 3 county players yesterday. Omagh Gael - I'm sure you have been holding in that comment all week waiting to see yesterdays result. Going to dungannon and getting a result is never easy never mind missing 3 county players.

Will league be pushed back if Tyrone make league final?

Correct Ruairi.

Or starred games on the Saturday?

Nope. They won't waste their starred games this early on with Tyrone cert for AI Final after beating the dubs.

Does anyone know why Ryan Daly left?

Was looking a pay rise and it was refused. Then Peter Donnelly got a pay rise and got 2 more S&C coaches in so he had less teams to manage. Daly then walked.

Has anyone heard of any names yet on whos going to drop off County panel once the starred fixtures are released?

Ive heard Conal McCann and Rony O'Neil are waiting on the Club fixtures to be released before they walk, only time will tell wheather this is true or not

There should be a rule that once the fixtures are made anyone that was on the county panel at that point cant play the starred games. It's the only way to cut out that scenario.
Not at all. They should be playing for their club every game and there should not be a them and us scenario at all. Any player not getting county ball on a Sunday should be with their club the following week.

In the last few years a number of players have quit the panel after the starred fixtures were announced. The starred games were put in to ensure teams with same number of county players played each other where possible. This scenario of players quitting after the fixtures were announced was creating a slightly unfair advantage to the clubs with the county men pulling out (and also leading to encouragement for them to do so in some cases).

I'd love to see players play more club games (though it has got even more difficult with the current county season) but that's a separate thing to the issue here. Though as pointed out I can't imagine Omagh and Killyclogher being that worried about the starred games given the strength of their panels that they'd be asking players to pull out.

Happens all this time,

McCurry done it last year,

"In hiding" and "youhavenofans" where have yous been the last couple of years or do yous not follow the club scene to see this happen.
I think the only possible solution is announce stared fixtures and if County men leave the panel to benefit their for starred game then the fixtures should be updated and another game changed to a starred game instead then

McCurry was heading to America so thats why he left the panel - not to be playing for Edendork every week. I would say that in most cases its due to players not getting any time through the McKenna Cup and then knowing that they wouldn't see any game time in the championship? An example of this i think was PJ Laverty few years ago?

Did every club not have to pay £5k per year for three years when first built?

Then they have the cheek to charge clubs to use it.

Designed in the shape of celtic T-have you ever heard of such BS? Im sure the birds in the sky love the design but the players  detest the place.

One of our counties largest main contractors were heavily involved in the garvaghey scheme and strongly advised them not to proceed with the T option. they were then asked to no longer be involved in the design and it was approved by others with no construction experience.

Any word on fixtures?
League to start 31st March so roughly 8 weeks so id imagine they'd be out soon enough.
Any early prediction on any teams who will make big push this season?

A few early points on team and things im hearing on players who could be missing. Ill try go through other teams when i hear some stores on there pre season or if anyone has input for us, all views welcome for discussion:

Errigal should be stronger with Canavan but then Cathal McCrory and Big Bru in Oz for the year and Decky Quinn injured for a lengthy period could they actually be weaker?

Killyclogher minus Sparky for most of the season will surely weaken them despite the fact Matty Murnaghan has well and truly arrived on the scene

Monroe gone from Carmen in an already aging team, could the mighty carmen actually get relegated or have they a bunch on successful minors too come through?

Heard McCarron is back for Dromore, in his last game for them he was their best player by a mile, also they seem to have a hugely talented U21 team competing in Ulster, this years dark horses maybe??

You need to check your hearing - 50% of the above is lies.

Does he have to cut the squad down to 30 something for the league or can the squad be larger or changeable?

Was just chatting to a few lads yesterday about how much more competitive the squad is and for the first time in years we have several options around midfield and even some forwards again to choose from.
If you had to rank your top 10 forwards how would you pick.
For me I think it would be...
P.Harte
Brennan
Sludden
Skeet
Mulgrew
Bradley (when he returns)
McCurry
McShane
Coney
McGeary

Canavan is probably still a bit too young and light yet

i dont think Bradley is going to be an option this year at all.

x2 and laughable how is isnt ahead of Mulgrew.
