Hi there, flying out of Dublin with Aer Lingus next month and in a bit of a dilemma whether to book seats or not? Costs 80 euros in total which is better in my pocket than AL but with 2 young kids there's always the worry we don't get seated together.  Any thoughts?

Just gambleÖ especially with young kids, Iíd rather they annoy someone else..

On a serious note weíve done it in the past and never any issues, youíll usual get someone to accommodate you if all else fails

I predict the same result as last time, when it comes to the crunch those that say they will, will happily stay with their English handlers

I was at a wedding about eight years ago where they met on world of Warcraft online. Married with two or three kids now.

Warcraft!! Christ I'm sure it wasn't your typical wedding attire

I wasnít sure what I was in for (wifeís friends) but they were two down to earth decent people. None of that dressing up or Iíd have had something else on that day lol.

Used to be a stigma with the online but standard enough now which is good. I do wonder how online dating worked during lockdown...

I'd a few friends on Match.com, would have thought that looked more sensible that Plenty of fish and Tinder!?

In true reality TV fashion, a public vote on who they think are deserving winners. Participating counties can't vote.
After all, everyone on the message board is right, so the public would also be right  ;) ;) ;) ;D

Nothing wrong with penalties in my mind.
I also dont mind that matches need to have a winner on the day.

I do agree though that I think cards should carry over. Extra time is an extension of the full game so I dont understand why cards don't already follow through.

What about instead of penalties, the team with the least number of cards and/or the team that committed the least amount of fouls? Would address any discipline issues? Referee could take some flak in this scenario though.

At club level I would end up in the boot of some car after the match!!

Was gona say this at the time but its hard to put without maybe annoying someone - but if mobile phones/social media had been around in the Hillsborough days could the whole thing have been "sorted" within months rather than the 30yrs odd....few more boys maybe brought to justice..

Anyway tis immaterial...

Social media has its good points and its negative side, but something like Hillsborough would have been dealt with at the time a lot quicker and forced the government into taking proper action..

Wild hard on the online.

I came out of 15 year marriage about 7 years ago now. It was scary for a late 30ís man staring into the dating world with completely different ways than I had before. I dipped in and out, had a few short relationships/acquaintances, tried the Ďtraditionalí way, and then went properly at it about this time 4 years ago. I got my profile pictures recent, didnít take myself too serious, was honest, and respectful. If you have a nice dog that worked wonders for meÖ.

Bumble was very good and I met a number of lovely women on it but Tinder is only a riding fest if thatís what you want. You can tell from early on what the attitude of the other person is and can cut through the bullshit quickly. Ironically I matched with someone who I admired from a far but never had the balls to approach. Itís pretty well known and we are pretty open about the fact that we met online. As she is a public figure itís something she has talked about openly. We are getting married next year so it works. Just be yourself and donít be an asshole. Thereís plenty of deadly women out there who simply donít have the time and also want to cut through the BS
I forgot to add.... Being in a relationship is overrated  ;D

Get yourself the best companion, a dog

Sorry I didn't get this information to you sooner lol!!

Deborah James, or bowel babe as she was known through her podcast died yesterday, for me this strikes a chord due to my own father dying of bowel cancer and my sister a bowel cancer survivor...

Some cancer's are easily treated if caught early, I say easily treated but that's from my perspective of doing the hospital runs not actually taking the treatment, my sister had the signs but didn't act until the week of my dads funeral, the tumor was large and aggressive, but luckily for her was contained in the bowel and had breached the walls, one more week or two and I'd be posting a different post..

The treatment of chemo is horrible for most, but until something else is found its the only way to get most cancers, that and radiotherapy, the amount of times my sister told me to f**k off when I said you've only a few more to do you can do this was plenty, we laugh now but it was a horrible time for her and others going through it.

Check your pooh, if your are noticing something different about your body, get it checked out, prolonged niggles or coughs, few friends recently caught throat cancer, non smokers and fit guys late 40's..thankfully for them and their families they have come out the other end after doing something about it.. one of them is doing marathons now!!

Deborah James took some much time to reply to people who messaged her on social media, my sister even got a reply to her last year and listening to 5 live on the way in was a tough listen as she was a regular on that show in the evenings
