Say this on Friday night.  Very clever staging and some very good acting.  Don't have a programme but the guy playing the priest was excellent.  All I'd say is if it is in your area, go.

Based on a book so if anyone has read it, when was it set?

The main character, the Master was very proud of a pupil with a brilliant voice who sang on the radio.  There was heavy emphasis in the play on some big Catholic festival that I know happened in 1932 and it seemed to imply that this boy may have sang at this.

I could go into more detail but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who may go.

Note: I do not wish to read this book as Pat McCabe is a bit to dark for me, reading the Butcher Boy was enough for me.
I have more respect for a man
that says what he means and
means what he says...
