U17 semi finals played tonight.

Longford 0-11 Louth 0-10
Kildare 1-12 Dublin 2-10


Longford beat Dublin in the group stage 3-8 to 1-9 last month.

Dublin were 5 down with less than 10 to go and got two successive goals.

1-11 to 0-9 to Kildare with three minutes of normal time to play. Kildare had the opportunity to bring the game into extra time with score able free but kicked it wide.  In the other semi final Longford led for the first time in added time and Louth with the last kick of the game dropped a free short.

We have a fine U20 team this year but Offaly look to be a couple of steps ahead of us and have plenty of the U20 team that won Leinster last year available to them. I'd still expect Laois to be competitive tonight-defensively the team have improved considerably on the Kilkenny game when we conceded far too many goal chances. Offaly by 5/6 points but Laois to give them a good challenge. Hopefully I'm wrong with the prediction and the U20s can replicate the performance of the seniors from a few weeks ago.

Just Canada for me in the C&Ds.  I'd defo have Croatia on my list for the future.

They'll get the vote then.
Blank means no transfer.
Hopefully they'll be all eliminated on Count 1 making it irrelevant.

They won't go hmmmmm ... , I'd say more likely to say the Government hired a load of foreigners to  tear up all their votes

In STV you're actually better giving them a really really low preference. If you leave it blank they don't know that you left it blank.
If you give them a 10 or whatever, whenever the transfers get to that stage (if they do), then they will see that people out there gave them a 10th preference and maybe for a moment go... "hmmm".

I dont buy this Donegal BS (esp M.Murphy), that Donegal are only few months into their plan.

Many of these players were around in previous successful regimes.

They have plenty of experienced players so they will not be viewing this as bonus territory, they will be going to win and will expect to win. There is no guarantee they will be back next year and you need to strike when the iron is hot. Same as Armagh. But that wasn't the most notable part of the article. That was reserved for him claiming that Ethan Rafferty should start the final after 10 months of not playing a match. Of course he would love that to happen so that McGuinness can set up another Odhran Lynch style ambush.

In more cute hoor-ism, McBrearty in Irish News said they do practice penalties... 1 page over, McGuinness said they dont... no time 

Jimmy was on the back page of the Irish News a few days ago stating that Patton would be fit for the final. Which makes me think that he actually won't be fit!
