Player (who happens to be a defender) calls an attacking mark on the 21 slightly on the angle, not fancying the kick goes down holding his hamstring. Referee proceeds to let their free taker who was about 40 yards away and not the closest player to take the mark instead, and he scores his 9th placed ball of the day.

Injured player leaves the field for treatment, comes back on and then sprints down the pitch (clearly hamstring has miraculously recovered) to his own half and finishes the game. Is this within the rules or did the ref get it wrong?

Loughinisland moved their game versus Clonduff last month and are playing Castlewellan this week on Thursday night rather than Friday, both rescheduled due to weddings in Clonduff and Castlewellan.

Apparently request to move the game was made several months ago. The GAA should be better than what went on last Friday.

From what I heard from those at the Loughinisland/Bredagh game the whole second half involved Bredagh playing the ball on the half way line, sideline to sideline between themselves, making absolutely no effort to score. Score was 8-2 at HT and finished 9-2

GAA Discussion / Re: Would you manage versus your own
November 10, 2022, 10:50:15 AM
Jerome managed my own club back in 2015 and he ended up managing us to win the Ulster intermediate championship. When he took on the job he said he would not manage us against Kilcoo in a league or championship match. He stood down in 2016 when we got promoted to the senior championship which we assume was to avoid such a conflict arising

At least he's been consistent in his views

August/September sounds like a good shout going by this article for things to open up. UK will be a position to offer everyone two doses by mid July based on supply

Get less than 1Mbps with BT, so got a 3 unlimited data sim about three years ago and put an antenna on the roof to boost the signal. Got max of around 10Mbps with 3.
Recently changed to EE, it's a bit pricier but speeds offpeak about 30Mbps and can drop on to 7-8 Mbps on the odd occasion at peak times

On the mobile 3G/4G non existent indoors, sometimes phone signal is even non-existent. Antenna on roof makes a big difference

On starred fixtures, as there is an odd number of teams in the divisions, does a team that has a bye on a starred round not get an unfair advantage?

The runaway leaders in division 2 were a mile behind Burren tonight. Burren second gear. Loughinisland will go straight back down next year. How many balls did they give away

And again

Big win for Castlewellan today. Big golf between 1st and 2nd division

Contradicting yourself are you not?
