Quote from: Rebel84 on May 12, 2024, 03:03:35 PMWas tight for 55 mins decent effort from Louth but the Dubs will likely win comfortably now.

The Dubs are hard to beat at home.

It's a big help to be playing at home no doubt about it.

Feel sorry for Louth as they have a lot of good players but they just can't compete against a professional setup for 70+ mins. Not many other teams can either.

Explain how the Dubs setup differs to other counties....? Leaving aside CP

GDO's in every club.
Jobs for the boys (that are often not really job

Look at the money Dublin county board get from the GAA. More than all the rest put together.

I feel sorry for the GAA. They are stuck with this biased mess. Corporate boxes, premium tickets mean they are blackmailed into Dublin having all these home matches. Dublin supporters don't travel either, despite all the myths about this. This is Dublin's 8th home game this year!

Quote from: burdizzo on May 12, 2024, 12:51:13 PMClearly the Croatian song was by far the best one there, as was reflected by the public vote. However, the juries decided otherwise, so really it's all about pushing an agenda. Just a confirmation of what was probably always the case. Or certainly recently. Can't be letting the public actually decide!

The public wants what the public gets...

....But I want nothing this society's got

Israel considered the most hated country in Eurovision... yet ended up with one of the highest volume of public votes.

Your daily reminder that social media is not an accurate reflection of reality.  :-\

Meanwhile in the UK.....

I don't know what to say about Israel finishing 2nd in the Public vote in Ireland!

Quote from: thejuice on May 11, 2024, 11:30:22 PMShould have won that but left too many chances out there. Interesting to see what happens next for these boys.

The worrying thing was there was no Graham Geraghtys, Ollie Murphy's or Tommy Dowds on show today. No ruthlessness!

....... and Bambi crowned him!

Just a reminder that the main sponsor of the Eurovision 24 and for the past three years is Moroccan Oil. The oil is not from Morocco, but made in Israel where it is a billion dollar industry. Still wondering why Israel was still allowed to compete this year?

Bambi gone from 18 to 30 to 1.

Israel are 2nd favourites to win. It would be some mess if they do! Can you imagine the pressure on various national broadcasters not to send a representative?

Quote from: Blowitupref on May 11, 2024, 03:39:01 PMEye catching result this afternoon in O'Connor Park

Offaly 0-12 London 2-20

Londons first championship win in 11 years.

You'd have to be thinking that the tanking Offaly got in Croke Park from Dublin sucked the self belief out of the team.

Meath completely choked a plethora of goal and point chances at the end.
