We'll not be taking the road to a United Ireland!

is irish government looking into taking in  russians fleeing putin mobilazation

Will place them I. Same hotels as the Ukrainian refugees
Maybe they can join the Irish students in camping out in tents and in their cars

Perhaps they should state that they will accept Russian builders, plumbers, architects, civil engineers etc and get them to build houses.
Offer EU citizenship to anyone that builds several houses

The Newsletter is no help, you have to wonder about their business model since they pander to a shrinking ageing sector of the population and don't do much for the younger middle ground crowd who are growing in number. Perhaps the former still get the paper newspaper. As for Lowry, I am never quite sure if he is laying it on or is a loose cannon. His brother lives in Dublin, he surely knows that life in a UI would not be the end of the world.

Sinn Fein need to get someone that is not directly connected to them to show how much better off someone in NI would be looking back 6 months and looking forward 6 months if they were part of the Republic than the UK.

If it's a significant amount - you'd expect it to give floating voters something to really think about.

You do realise that they do not want to do this? Such a comparison would undermine their contention that everyone in the 26 counties was banjaxed. Likewise they claim to want a United Ireland, which will cost money, while at the same time advocating blowing the 26 county budget so that there will be no capacity left to help with unity.

UK stagflation is another reason for a United Ireland . Because of Brexit, UK companies can't benefit from cheaper sterling by exporting to the EU
This means inflation is worse than in the EU.

A lot of consumer goods pass through the UK to Ireland though, in the short term you could knock 1% of Irish inflation because of Sterling declining.

Lads there are a plethora of Eastern Europeans living in the north, at a guess 35K and Catholic!

Do we count them as Catholics in this Census? It would throw the figures out by about 1.75%.
Just need to make sure we get them voting in our favour in a border poll!

35k could be conservative!

There are 6% of people with "Other National Identities’ so they could be material in a poll. At present a lot of them do not vote and cannot vote in some elections, so I expect some debate about exactly who could vote in a border poll.

What do we know about the catholics who identify as N Irish ?What's the correlation with voting Alliance ?

I'd say those who vote Alliance live in staunchly unionist areas. Couldn't imagine many voting Alliance where a realistic Nationalist alternative exists.

You might think the Alliance rep is a good one. You should not be precluding from voting for a good MLA or Coumcillor on the basis that this will prevent a border poll, otherwise every election becomes even more of the them and us than at present.

I agree but this is NI. No one votes on the basis of someone being good or bad at their job.

I think some Alliance voters do.

The North would likely still have a separate international soccer team.
The "United Kingdom" has 4 international teams.

No way this is going to happen. The UK having 4 teams is an accident of history, they are not going to allow the smallest of them continue if it is not in the UK.
