The summer is going to be interesting. They need to get it right which I've no doubt they will.

Quote from: laoislad on April 28, 2025, 06:44:29 AMFair play to JimStynes from this parish for running the London Marathon yesterday and the massive amount of money he raised for his charity.
Think he ran New York in November also.
Some man fair play.

Good man Laoislad! Running is being kind! It was more of a run then a shuffle, then a walk/run. Was suffering in the heat from mile 8 big time. 18 mile slog after that and one of the hardest things I have ever done. 2 majors done and Chicago to do in October. More importantly I have raised over £18k for TinyLife. A charity close to my heart.

Wow epic.
Will you do all 6 or 7 as it is now?

Just thinking there about next season.
Going to be a lot of incomings and outgoings you'd imagine so it could actually be the transitional season many thought this would be.
Slot certainly stamped his own style onto the team but none of them were his players.
If there are wholesale changes it could take a season for them to blend.

It's an obsession for them!  :o

It'd a bit of both to be honest. Delighted that Liverpool are going back on their perch in the same season that United potentially finish 17th and at best can only hope for 15th or so.
It is beyond my wildest dreams.
They'll be hurting today for sure.

Kind of surreal to think Liverpool could be Premier League Champions in a few hours time. 2nd title in 5 years. It's really a great time to be a Liverpool fan.
Fingers crossed they get the job done today.

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on April 21, 2025, 08:36:58 AMHow Utd still grab the posts is beyond me. They are dung but still get most of the media attention.

As for finishing positions a great Liverpool manager had a line about that... now how did it go....

Utd won't get past the next game and if they did Spurs are better
Because united are always headline news. No matter how bad or good they are.
Manchester United are the Premier league.
Deal with it.

Leeds were also grabbing a lot of headlines during their demise at the start of the PL after winning the old Div1.

Their demise was due to a huge, leveraged debt they couldn't service.

Do you see any comparisons?
No comparison. United are so big they are always headline. If utd were relegated the same day Liverpool won the league, the headline would be utd.
If united were in the championship they would still be headline news.
Its just a fact.
I'd actually also say the media have an effect on the managers since Fergie. Prob bar Mourinho the rest couldn't deal with the constant glare.
Maybe next year.

Fun Fact.
If Liverpool had played no more games after beating Spurs on December 22nd 2024 they would still have more points than Man United currently have.
