Lots of new players training with Galway currently especially as the Corofin players will likely be missing for most it not all the league and there are a number of senior players who will also miss the league as they are recovering from injuries.

Called up are Sean Andy O'Ceallaigh (Leitir Mor), Peter Cooke (Moycullen), Sean Kelly (Moycullen), Ronan Boland (Michael Breathnach), Cein D'Arcy (Caherlistrane), John Maher (Salthil), Eoin Finnerty (Mountbellew-Moylough), Rob Finnerty (Salthill), Dessie Conneely (Moycullen), Ciaran Duggan (Annaghdown), Frankie Burke (Annaghdown), Evan Wynne (Salthill).

Called up from the past two minor teams are Sean Mulkerrin (Oileain Arann) and Evan Murphy (Salthill).

Back after missing 2017 due to injury are Patrick Sweeney (Killanin) and Adrian Varley (Cortoon Shamrocks).

Cillian McDaid (Monivea Abbey) has joined Carlton in the AFL.
Thats Sam sorted for this year then. The Aristocrats are back!

Just giving a squad update for those who are interested in those type of things.

For those with more than a passing interest like myself the information is much appreciated GBB!

Cortoon Shamrocks always remind me of this song where he sings

Don't want to end up in Cortoon
In a Cortoon graveyard

Ye hoors have plenty of young forwards, any chance ye'd give back Larry jnr?

Going to be a struggle for Galway to stay up given the likely loss of the Corofin lads and with the injuries to the 5 O'Currain, O'Donnell, Cummins, Heaney & Daly. Then there's Power, Silke, Farragher, Sice, Lundy, Molloy & Burke from Corofin although it gives opportunities to others.

Delighted to see Paddy Tally involved, I know a little bit about him and his methods and think he'll be a great addition.

Ya, take him away. He's not great anyway I'm afraid.

Being in D1 isn't ideal for blooding a bunch of rookies when you're a team just up and favoured for the drop.

Wouldn't write him off just yet as you can see the talent that is there but he definitely gave a few displays last year that would worry you a bit. From what I remember he had an absolute nightmare against Kerry in the U-21 semi final. He must have left about 2-3 behind him. I guess you could say at least he was getting into good positions to score. Worse maybe was then being taken off at half-time in the final against Dublin where he was just anonymous. Still I'm loathe to criticise a young lad too much who was just out of minor last year.

Interesting to see Evan Murphy called in. I really didn't think we'd see him play senior football with Galway.
Thought he'd be gone off Stateside on a soccer scholarship.
Will be interesting to see how he gets on with them.

rosnarun

giid to see Jason gibbons micheal hall and Adam Gallagher all back on the mayo panel for the FBD . I thought Gibbons in particular last year could have played a major role

True, we'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

Anyone know how he performed for Salthill during the season? I only saw him one in quarter final against Cavan and he was dreadful.

Good to see Domican back in the Ros jersey after 5 ir 6 years.
Hope he is able to get back to County level by Summer as we heed good defenders.
Haven't been in around Leitrim's CofE - any spectator accommodation?
