I've actually just received an email from Sage saying they are stopping support for TAS Books and Sage 50.

I actually prefer Sage from all the software we'd see out there.

Intact (based in Dundalk) is ok.

Others Big Red Book (don't like it).

Sage are cornering the market and normally buy up the opposition ie TAS books.

Thanks guys. Used SAGE a few times and I was never that keen on it. Want to see what alternatives there is on the market.

The one thing about Sage is that they have a number of different pacakages depending on the size of your business.

I find them easy to use but thats probably from continued use of them at various clients.

Sage Commercial is a decent package. Its bigger brother is Accounts Production.

TAS books is fine.

Quickbooks and all other Sage products (jnc that effing Line 50) are to be avoided like the plague.

It's Line 50 that I've used on various occasions and didn't like.

Line 50 verison 12 was excellent but since that they are over complicated the thing, plus it runs oo slowly.
Really cant speak highly enough of profile i never used it before i came here and its the easiest one ive ever used and it does the job lak.

The Big Red Book is a good one too, I know a few people that use it and they do not have a clue when it comes to computers but find the Big Red Book easy to use.

You can try it for free from their web site : http://www.bigredbook.com/
