Look, some on the left want to pin every last death on Trump and that is going to backfire on them

I would agree that a lot of the blame probably lies with those fbckers from the Tea Party.

Instead of sticking on message what are the left ranting about this week-Checks supposedly being delayed by needing Trumps signature......and so far it looks like that attack is just another pile of steaming cow manure (but of course NY Times and WaPo had to run with it)

Given what was known at the time, what was wrong with what Pelosi (or on a similar note in NYC, DeBlasio) said about trying to get people back to their respective Chinatowns?

This was before Italy. They weren't denying that COVID was potentially going to strike the US. Congress people under Pelosi had already been calling for the administration to take it more seriously while Trump was in active denial and calling their concerns a Democratic hoax even later than that.

What exactly do you think the response would have been had Democratic politicians been calling for actual shutdowns at that point? Seriously.

Right now we've got right wingers coming out with assault weapons in various states protesting about the shutdowns, with Fox News, the rest of right wing media and even Trump himself cheering them on. Even in f**king New Jersey, where hundreds are still dying every day. There is no equivalency to be found here.

J70

And I should add, that of course you can't blame Trump for all the deaths. This shit was hitting no matter who was in charge. The responsibility is a lot bigger than him.

As I said the other day, he can still do a good job on this. He made a start down that road on Thursday. Hopefully after yesterday's irresponsible outbursts he'll get back on it.

And what would Democrat's have made of it had Trump introduced all these restrictions bang smack in the middle of the impeachment hearings and votes?

Exactly.....very easy for the Democrats to Monday morning quarter back and say what they would have done

United States is in the melting pot right now.
Trump is urging outright rebellion in locked down Democratic led states.
The red necks ,with their powerful gun lobby backers are promoting street protests. This has the potential for complete disaster.
Trump is a very poor leader, surrounded by yes men, undemocratic , sound bite led, no blame culture.
God help America , if he is re elected.

The only good thing is , he can only be re-elected for 4 more years.  I hope ....

This is bordering on dangerous and he's going to create a big problem for these Democratic Governors, but Whitmer should have just done her job instead of interviewing for the VP job by constantly attacking Trump

Well, at the very least we can say that the Dems take science, expertise and government oversight and action a hell of a lot more seriously than the current GOP.

Let's hope the governors don't give into them.
