Not a goal but a memorable score at any rate was Martin Daly's backheeled point about 10 years ago.

From Hoganstand.com:
Joyce axed from Galway panel

Galway's preparations for their Connacht SFC semi-final against Sligo later this month have been rocked by confirmation that Nicky Joyce has been dropped from the panel.

The highly-rated forward, who is a first cousin of fellow attacker Padraic, was dropped by manager Liam Sammon over the weekend for an alleged breach of discipline.

It remains to be seen if Joyce will be brought back into the panel later in the summer, but as it stands, he won't be involved for the provincial semi-final against Kevin Walsh's Sligo at Markievicz Park on June 28.

Joyce has threatened to emerge as one of the top forwards in the game over the past few years, but a series of injuries have prevented him from doing so.

Any Galway lads have the full story regarding this?

Great display from him today. Galway's best forward.

Who put together the SAM 05 DVD which i thought was very good and will SAM 08 be available this year? Plus any other general GAA DVDs that would be worth purchasing?

SAM 05 - 08 and LIAM 05 - 08 all good as well the 'Marooned' dvd documenting Westmeath's historic Leinster win in 05 under Páidí Ó Sé. Loads of other good ones out there. The Royal Battle featuring the 4 game Dublin v Meath saga of '91 is another excellent one.

I usually hate these things but only for the reason to end an argument i have decided to start a poll. Do you think that Ollie Murphy's match winning abilities are better than Dessie Dolans consistancy? Both class acts in my eyes I must add

Ollie Murphy was hard to beat at the big moment on the big day.

Fourteen years now since the team with a pick of over a million played in Croke Park in September.

And not since 1961 in hurling.  :o

Senior Provincial Finals 2009.

Ulster
Monaghan 0-13 Tyrone 3-08

Munster
Cork 6-15 Kerry 0-09

Connacht
Mayo 2-08 Galway 3-17

Mayo have gone a long way backwards and Kerry even moreso. Cork look like they are well ahead of the rest again this year but maybe Galway will challenge. Tyrone got some fine scores against Monaghan.
