Title: Midweek Fixtures
Post by: recyclebin on June 25, 2019, 02:06:05 PM
What's the story with all the midweek club games in Laois? There seems to be no regard for player welfare at all. Our clubs junior and senior championship games are both down for Tuesdays.

Is there a shortage of referees or what's the story? Lots of our lads are working in Dublin or further a field. How are they supposed to prepare for a match when they can barely get there on time for throw in?

Shortage of referees.

Agree recyclebin. I think it's very unfair. I'd say most clubs are in a similar predicament. We no longer live in a time when lads work rest and play close to home. There's no quick fix unfortunately, particularly with the shortage of referees. That won't change either because for what they get, who could be bothered. The GAA are happy enough to let the tail wag the dog.

Matches fixed fir 7.30 midweek is crazy and unfair on lads working in dublin or further afield.looking down through league tables the amount of walkovers been given is staggering.Would love to see the leagues restructured with only about ten games ,14 fixtures is way too many for division one teams .also cant understand why more games were not fixed for clubmonth in April]
] when they didn't clash with exams, county 20s or holidays
