Quote from: From the Bunker on April 09, 2024, 09:33:34 PMThe Double Treble is on and nobody in the media wants to mention it.
Media don't expect Liverpool to let the Premier league title to slip through their fingers hence why it hasn't been mentioned.

The Media know City are stink with Financial Doping. They don't sell advertising, Papers, etc. And there is not an ounce of romance in the achievements of the team.

I agree soulless club and no side left in the Champions league or FA Cup good enough to beat them. Both Liverpool and Arsenal are currently ahead of them in the Premier league so it's opportunity knocks.

The irony is that pre state involvement, they had plenty of soul, certainly a good part of their fanbase and the crowds that followed them in the 3rd tier 25 odd years ago

Didn't a draw against Spurs at Anfield cost the scousers the title a few years ago?

Quote from: Nanderson on February 18, 2024, 11:10:37 AMOut of interest, if the entire UK voted again today on Brexit knowing everything that we know now would it still be a narrow leave win. I'd probably back something closer to 55-60% win for Remain
There will be no second vote because both big parties are controlled by the ultra rich

http://dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-13095069/PETER-HITCHENS-General-Election-vote.html......  "Our democracy is now a closed circle, in which secret cliques select candidates like themselves, and we then vote for them, urged on by slick advertising campaigns and broadcasters who are part of the system"

Irony of this article being in the daily heil, who are a huge part of the problem.

Quote from: Estimator on February 05, 2024, 10:15:31 AMDecent, if not overly impressive from Derry.  Butchered numerous scoring opportunities, by adding an extra hand pass instead of fisting/tapping it over the bar from 21yrds out.  But its league football and getting the wins are what really matters.

Tyrone were well in it at half time, silly frees give them the opportunity to stay in touch.  Morgan's free off the ground in the first half was superbly judged.  Not sure why they didn't kick on in the second half.  They didn't go after Scullions kicks outs as much as I would've expected as well.

Ref wasn't fantastic, looked up once and spotted a bit of shirt pulling, give the free and then it never happened again for the duration of the game.  And the curse that is two or three players surrounding the player in possession. Sometimes its over carrying and sometimes is it a free for the player in possession. No consistency in that at all.

For Derry, Baker and Murphy getting more experience at this level is a good thing.  I'd go so far as to say Murphy's performances had an influence on Toner when he came on.  When Toner got the ball, he turned and headed for goal instead of maintaining possession with an easy backward handpass. Loughlin had a better outing as well.  Cassidy wasn't at his best.

Maybe some Screen bias, but I think that Scullion is the best option to have outside of Lynch.  He hasn't had the opportunity to play much football in the last couple of years due to county commitments.  I think the relegation playoff against Lavey and the final league game against Cork, were the only two games he played between January and July last year.  He played one McKenna group game so far this year, and 15mins yesterday. Aside from one kick out over the sideline (Morgan did that too) and one kick pass that went astray (Lynch did that too) he seemed comfortable in that role.  Don't forget there are some on here who would've liked to see Lynch replaced over that last couple of year.

If Lynch and McKinless are out for a run of games, I'd say McFaul would move to CHB and then a fight for place in the forwards between Emmett Bradley, Declan Cassidy, Niall Toner and Cormac Murphy.  Which is a much better place than we were last year.

Any relation to Tony?

Quote from: Wildweasel74 on January 22, 2024, 11:09:39 PMOso, suck it up!  Safe to say, we never see Cargin remotely near a Ulster title foreby a All-Ireland. And no, I ain't from Glen.

Why do you assume I'm from Cargin?? As I've stated before I'm not from Cargin.

Wrong again!! And you can't even dispute one point I made about Sunday's game because I'm correct on all of them.

Your points are irrelevant. Glen ARE All Ireland Club Champions. There's no * next to them on the roll of honour saying St Brigid's really should have won it.

I think it affected the umpires on that clear goal that should have been given.

The US have been no saints in the past with interventions in a number of countries eg Chile and removing Allende.

That said Russia is a dictatorship and their actions are more nefarious than most, internally never mind Ukraine. China also with their "softer" approach (excluding the Uighur's amongst others which are less soft) to colonising half the developed world with infrastructure investment which is putting the US on the back foot to the point where Trump, if likely elected, will withdraw the US from a lot of world affairs other than greasing the palms of those who helped him.

Geopolitics is a dirty game.

Ah you're just as sad as the rest of them!  Are you that small minded?  I suppose I should be chuffed you remembered my name, btw you're irrelevant to me!

Sunday was a disaster from my point of view, went there hoping to see your lot hammered and see the most ignorant crowd in club football quietened.  Wouldn't know you hadn't won anything til about 3 years ago or been anywhere before then.

Visibility was a joke and clearly affected crokes more than Glen. Despite not turning up for 3/4 of the game crokes still almost pulled it out of the bag when Glen literally filled their togs in the second half. So much for managing games and seeing them out, hasn't happened once outside Derry.  Some of crokes wides were brutal and they missed enough chances to win that game comfortably. Even the Walsh miss at the very death, no idea why he needed to carry it in further as he forced himself wide, it seemed within his range but maybe he couldn't see the posts clearing when he glanced up with the poor visibility.

The number of posters giving off about the tackle on Jack Doherty being a red because of contact with his face and him having to go off... He didn't even hold his face!!? and we all know Glen love to simulate (Emmet Bradley is made of chocolate it seems) he went off because he jarred his knee in the tackle.

Both Doherty's playing with wing mirrors on, jack even lifted the ball clean off the ground in the first half before he went off as he was so busy looking around himself.

Can only hope St Brigids do me a favour in the final.

Jeez and I thought Trailer was the biggest muppet on this forum! To actually take the time to type this, wow!

Quote from: trailer on December 29, 2023, 07:26:08 AMArsenal have got the breaks with VAR all season. Against Utd, against Newcastle. Time a close one wants against them.

Wasn't it Newcastle who got the VAR break in that game?

City will win it without doubt, it's almost getting boring now like Germany and France.

They're certainly hard to beat at home as both City and Arsenal can attest to. However, they probably won't pick up enough points to even be close to staying up.
