Gene sure got a great send off yesterday.

Philomena singing in the chapel, and a musical send off at the grave.

Is nothing private these days?

Relatives and friends grieving at a graveside, and somebody filming on their phone. Neither the time nor the place!

I thought both video's were very respectful, and a fitting tribute from his closest friends and former band mates

The music was fine. But panning the camera around where relatives were grieving was ridiculous. It was like they were videoing a birthday party. Camera phones at a funeral is just disrespectful.

Wow!  I don't revel in anyone's death, but am glad he's no longer on the Supreme Court.

He us considered one of the greatest judges ever to hold office, funny the way liberals and conservatives remember people differently is it not?
Stew, do you believe he was murdered?

Yes, he was, seafood.
He had this crazy ideology called origination which went back to the constitution and what the drafters meant. It was really useful in cases involving modern developments like the internet.

But is that not what a supreme judge is supposed to do?
He upheld the right of people to burn the American flag even though he would have found it abhorrent personally. He had no problem with people holding protests. I think a local Methodist group held a protest at his funeral and he would have been ok with that. I think it is good that the supreme court judges are varied and independent thinkers.
