There's an absolutely brilliant documentary from either last year or early this year called "West of Memphis" about the case. Damien Echols co-produces it. A must for anyone with an interest in the case.

This accident led to the redesign of brakes to fail safe, i.e. the power keeps the brake off and if the power was removed the brake activated.
There was some question in the recent Lac-Mégantic detailment in Québec as to whether this was the case.

The Armagh-Newry line was also notable for having the longest tunnel in Ireland, yet another Amagh superlative!
