Reading Roy Garland's piece in the Irish Times and he uses the term Lundy - I've heard this many times before and know that its an implied insult to Unionists but what does it refer to?
Yep - a traitor - based on Robert Lundy

Did Lundy not pull some stunt at the Siege of Derry which nearly led to the overthrow of the "maiden" city. Hence the use of the word as a traitor.

"A 'Lundy' has also become a byword for traitor for unionists and loyalists."
