General discussion / The Worlds top 10 deadliest
April 08, 2009, 03:07:41 PM
The tussle between humans and animals is not as one-sided as you may think. We count down the top ten deadliest animals .

Since the dawn of man, humans have held sway over the animal kingdom, hunting animals for purposes of food, tools, survival and sport. But animals still do a fair bit of damage to humans, claiming the lives of a more than two million people each year.

So which animals are the worst offenders? It's not the usual suspects. Sharks, whose attacks receive the most publicity, only kill three to four humans a year. The most poisonous animal on earth, the poison-arrow frog, lives deep within the tropical rainforests of Central and South America and rarely makes contact with humans.

Right lads/ladies without researching this can you place the following 10 animals in their rightfull position starting from the most deadliest and work your way down the list...

Scorpion
Dog
Elephant
Hippopotamus
Box Jelly fish
Lions/Big cats
Crocodiles
Snakes
Mosquito
Cape Buffalo

Lads is it just me or has our change in society created these so called "Muchsavage Women". This topic relates to many of the threads on the board here and i would like to know how you feel about it. Take for example the student's rioting with the cops on Paddy's day, all i could see on the news was overweight women running around drunk in the thick of it...we heard from other threads the way these girls (wildebeest) talk on a night out and the way they act when they get their claws into some poor victim after about 12 pints...what about the craze the go Thur with their "Umpa Lumpa" orange faces and their tracksuit's on a night out...WTF.

Where has all the decent women went too that were knocking about when i was on the pull??? I know the older guys on the board will have a different view to the younger wans!!!

P.S. I don't want Gorey details like the "Mucksavage Thread" that got banned, because i don't want banned...A sensible debate and no naming your ex girlfriends (keep it clean Fullback ;))

You must give at least one name who you like and who you dislike, of course you can list as many as you like. And the important bit is to state why, please keep it clean and civilised...lol

GAA Discussion / GAA Trainers (Armagh Area)
January 06, 2009, 05:25:02 PM
Lads do you know of any good GAA trainers ( not managerial ) out there at the minute who would be interested in training a team and get a few coupons for their troubles. I have approached a few good guys but unfortunately they are tied up with county and other clubs. This could be a good opportunity for even some guy just starting out to try and establish himself although i would prefer experience...

Managing and training is very hard to do and if we had someone to come in (even if it was only 1 night a week) it would be better preparation so you can step back and watch the players train and call individuals out to speak to them as and when required instead of worrying about the drill...

General discussion / Christmas Bonus
December 19, 2008, 11:54:58 AM
I just opened the cheque there to find nothing extra in it at all...raging i am. I would usually be first to confront the boss on an issue like this but i know how things are at the minute and wouldn't want to jeopardise my job or anything but when i started here 14 months ago the boss told me himself that there would be "2" bonuses a year and a yearly review of my salary... Obviously i was in here a year last month and no review!!!

What do ya reckon lads should i pull him in by the ears and tell him or sit tight and see how things go after Christmas...

General discussion / Anti virus software & Spyware
December 11, 2008, 02:55:28 PM
Lads i know this is a regular thing on the board but i need your advise...

I have just bought a Dell Laptop (fecking pink one) for the niece and i won't give it to her until i have fully protected from all those nasty viruses out there, she will use it for the obvious sh1t like downloading music and bebo, facebook etc. I read earlier in the week about a certain virus that guys struggle to get rid off so i would appreciate if you IT guys could advise me on the best (free) antivirus software available for downloading as well as Spyware (Spybot etc)

Thanks...

P.S. give me a list of the possible software out there an i'll include it in a poll to see which one tops the list...

General discussion / Modern Women & Old fashioned men
December 09, 2008, 04:07:04 PM
Right lads i have got into some disputes about this but my wife is of the old generation and to cut to the chase i have never:

Washed dishes
Cook
Ironed
hoovered
polished (no smart remarks Full back)
done the washing

So you get my drift. I do cut the grass and some DIY but never have i had to do any of the above even when i lived at home with my mother as i had 4 older sisters to take care of that. Now i know the modern women would not put up with this carry-on and I'm interested to know what the rest of you guys do at home...

My wife would pack my football gear for me too and take out the dirty washing when i return but i do do this myself mostly. Now i mentioned this to a female member of staff one day (head of Human Resources) and i thought she was going to put a knife in me. You could see the anger in her eyes and of course i accidentally said "Jasus i wouldn't like to be married to you" so that was the end of our friendship, i only brought this up because she was bumming and blowing about how her husband does this and that while she sits on her (nice if i may add) hole...

General discussion / 50 Dead Men walking
November 14, 2008, 09:59:54 AM
Seen that film on Tuesday night (DVD) "50 Dead Men Walking"

The film is set from 1987 until 1991, the time in which McGartland acted as an undercover informant within the IRA during The Troubles. In 1991 his cover was blown and he was kidnapped by the IRA, although he later escaped and went into hiding.

The film caused controversy for comments made at the premier by cast member Rose McGowan. The film was also criticised by McGartland as not being a true account of events, and he initially attempted to block release of the film.

At the time of the release of the film McGartland was still in hiding. The film takes its name from McGartland's claim within his book to have saved the lives of fifty people during his time as an informant.

General discussion / Buying on Ebay
October 23, 2008, 04:39:25 PM
Ladies/Gents my niece is after a laptop for general home work and the usual stuff a 17 year old gets up to (Bebo/myspace etc) and she asked me to check on ebay but what happens if something goes wrong with it and will she have a warranty with it...

P.S. a spec for the laptop would be great to you IT guys on the board...and something not to pricey as she paid dear for her last one and its scrap now as she never looks after anything...

General discussion / Internet hacking
October 21, 2008, 12:35:46 PM
Tell me this folks is it possible to hack into you're neighbour's internet without knowing their code that usually is under their wireless router. When i put the bluetooth on from my laptop i can pick up 3-4 different users within my development but when i try to connect it asks for this key which i don't have...but there is one and its through SKY and it lets me connect to it and it shows on my laptop that I'm connected but it still won't let me onto internet explorer...could someone explain to me why if it's telling me I'm connected...And if you are connected to someone else's internet will they know???

Now before you all jump on me I'm with Gaelic Telecom and they are crop for deals with internet so I'm in the process of pricing around for a deal to get the broadband in to the house (which i know I'll seldom use as i do it all from work) but I'm more curious about how people hack in than actually trying to get free internet...

General discussion / Will's & The Law
September 29, 2008, 05:33:47 PM
Lads/Ladies are there any of you out there who practise law or are training to do so as i have a very peculiar case regarding a will and i would like some free advise.

The question is: If I'm left something by a relative can this relative say in their will what i must do with my inheritance or once it's mine am i free to do with it whatever and whenever i please...???

PM me if any of you want to answer in private...

I recently set up an account with Paddy Power. However i did not receive any promotional free bets that they usually give out to new customers as i do not have a link from an internet site from which they were advertising. So to any of you guys who have done this before and still have the link to their promotion (from which i could use to claim my free bet) could you send it to me.

P.S. my first bet yesterday was £10 on a 7/2 winner so maybe PP will double my money if i can get my hands on that link ;) ;)

GAA Discussion / Treat GAA players with respect
June 30, 2008, 04:13:35 PM
Lads i was at the Armagh v Down game yesterday and what i witnessed from the Hill was nothing short of a disgrace, the abuse the players were getting from a section of the Down fans was unbelievable (before you all jump on me i know Armagh fans are every bit as bad if not worse) everytime an Armagh man had the ball or was fouled this guy and his 2 mates shouted "Kick the f**k out of him" and "Ye w**ker" and many many more. It was that bad that 2 girls beside me who were Down fans asked him to be quiet to which he told them to "F**k off".

Now i know we all like a bit of banter at the games but this is personal insults. I was actually considering bringing my 3 year old to the game yesterday and i know it prop would have ended in a row as i would not have allowed him to shout like that around her. But whats you're opinion on this? do you think that the Gaa fans are not showing enough respect to the players? and the booing when players are taking scoreable free kicks is not on either, it seems the GAA fans are getting more and more like soccer fans every year.

General discussion / Partying in Newcastle
February 12, 2008, 04:58:32 PM
Lads there are a number of guys (around 30) going to Newcastle (England) next weekend for a stag doo, can you's name a few Bars/Nightclubs to go too and the ones to avoid!!! and any other attractions that should get a visit??? (and hopefully the local cop shop is not one of them :D :D)
