Great to get the win but we need to keep the momentum going. Last year we had a very good opening win away to Sligo but our season petered out. .
Fair play to Timmons who gave the 'assist' for our goal. There's a lad that should inspire the younger players with his committment and desire.

The signs are good and lets see where we are after game 3 or 4.

Interesting choice for captain for the year. Wouldn't have seen Aaron as captain material but I wouldn't know much about the man. Good choice in lads opinion?

I see that the Galway game against Offaly was eventually abandoned due to fog. Galway were giving them a bit of a beating at that stage anyhow.

Lets hope the lads get going early this year. They got better as the season progressed last year but left games behind them from winning positions before a great win away to Kerry.

I know you can't read too much into a game this early in the year but a great start.

We are more than capable of wining the McDonagh cup.

That's great to hear Ogie.

Usually it's about the lack of organisation and apathy when it comes to underage groups.

Shane Keegan seems to be making a difference.

First campaign with a new manager last year and our form got better as the season went on. Let a couple of games slip which done us in the end. Had a good away win against Kerry. Hopefully lessons learned from last year. No reason why we can't win the McDonagh in my opinion.

Ballylinan were well beaten in the end on Sunday.

Level at the end of normal time so you'd have to ask if their fitness levels were up to scratch to lose by so much in the end.

Wasn't at it Butch buy always a few from Arles, St Joes, Ballylinan etc

I see where a combined schools hurling team defeated a Dublin schools team.

Is that an A competition does anyone know?

Bumpthis for Schools football.

Knockbeg topped their group after a win against Ardscoil Athy yesterday. Good Laois players on both teams.

Bumping this thread to save starting a new one seeing as we'll have a combined team this year.
