EG, when comparing loyalist and republican violence and attacks during the troubles the only variable that is identical is the impact that it has on the victims.  The taking of an innocent life is always wrong.  The end does not justify the means, whether that be Kingsmills, Hiroshima or anyother massacre of innocent civilians.
The ideology of republican violence during the troubles (note I am not justifying any actions) is in stark contrast with loyalist violence.  If anyone as any difficulty in understanding this then I suggest that they look at the figures for re offending by ex prisoners since the GFA, and ask why do they trend in such a specific way.

That's great lads... any other unsubstantiated rumours we can post about McGuinness's or anyone else's personal lives?
My story is no rumour!  He also refered to cups of tea as cups of scald!
I was at a glenties match when they were playing Burt, he was hitting the frees, and everytime he went to hit one, Ronan McLaughlin(some player in his day and a joke he didnt play more for Donegal) playing for Burt would say to him "remember Jim, look at the ball, allow for the wind and follow through with the laces".  Everytime the ball would balloon wide! Eventually Jim lost the plot whilst lining up a free, threw the ball at him and shouted "your gay! thats gay! your a gay boy!"  Got a yellow card and free the other way, one of the funniest things i seen at a match.

Was it true that he turned up for an interview for the Donegal job a few years ago with his laptop and had presentations and all ready and they kinda thought he was nuts.

[
A good manager he is but the man is definitely bonkers!  During a few of his adventures down to the port to rip up the dance floor in Kellys in his younger days there was numerous storys to be told by him.  One went like so, I will try to recall and quote accurately!  Probably best to read in a glenties accent for effect!
"I was out one night hi, and a goth girl came up to me and said 'you look wile like Jesus'.  She wanted me spuds but she scared the life out me hi.  Ended up going back to her place and doing the bit.  She kept saying 'fcuk me Jesus, fcuk me Jesus!'Must have been some kinda sadist.  I tell ye, she rode me! she rode me! she rode me raw boy!"

Maybe being a bit pedantic but McDonnells chance was further out and devlin came of the line very quickly that maybe made him rush the decision.  Just dont think it was a bad miss, think apples is probably right in saying the point would have been the better option, in hindsight obviously.

The gloating shite coming from some Derry fans here is very reminicient of similar drivel from some Armagh fans after Down. The better team won on Sunday but there is no doubt they had a helping hand from the ineptitude of the Armagh line. Also McDonnells second goal chance which should have been pointed was a major turning point, the Derry goal that came from it killed the game. John Brennan got it spot on on the day and his contribution should not be played down. That said however I wouldn't fear meeting Derry again there is not 9 ponits between the teams.
I agree with that.   Dont really see much gloating though, just alot of fans glad of back to back wins for a change

from what i seen, derry had 3 shots for goals scored 3, armagh had 4 and scored 1, steven mc donnell's killer instinct infront of goal has gone, and has been gone for quite a few years, he no longer taps the ball over with either foot with the ease he used to, armagh have a good 15-17 players outside that theres not much, is billy joe any better a player than brain mallon or even stephen kernan, we need a playmaker at 11 not a donkey man.

ahem....we also missed 2 futher goal chances....gilligans on the rebound which hearty saved, then Diver was clean through could have shot for goal as he'd only the keeper to beat but tried to fist it over the bar and fisted it wide! So Derry had 5 goal shots and scored 3! Derry also had 10 wides to Armagh's 5(I think).
If you were trying to infer that the game was closer than it was, I think you are mistaken.
If you were trying to infer Stevie isnt the player he was, you're probably right...but its hard for any player to be at the top of his game for any more than a few years.
This was the best goal chance of the game, good save,  Gilligans reaction said it all, he couldnt believe it wasnt in the back of the net.
I have watched the replay a few times now and I have to say I disagree with alot of ones about Stevies second goal chance.  I honestly dont think its that clear cut a chance.  I would be dissapointed if the keeper didnt save a shot from there.  Maybe he should have carried it in a few more steps.  But i think it has to be a rocket to beat the keeper form that distance and that angle.  Just my opinion.

Rory is a sports profession first and foremost and it's pretty clear he has no interest politics and wants to stay clear of any controversy and in by doing that  people still go out of there way to be offended,if a protestant sporting star avoided the union jack boys would be on here saying that there a great fella, the whole flag thing just winds me up.
Does he support Celtic or Rangers????   Politics should be as far removed from sport as possible.  This should apply even more so to individual sport like golf, boxing etc.
I had lecturer at coleraine for sports studies,(who was protestant) a member of the portrush royal, who refused to go the annual dinner dance because they played GSTQ, for the very reason that he felt politics should be kept out of sport.

I hate to be comparing whats worse in instances like these, as both the Kingsmill, and Japan bombings are terrible and horiffic crimes against civilians and all connected to them.  They are both IMO war crimes.   But EG it seems like you are saying that the Kingsmill is worse than Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings which killed hundreds of thousands of people and effected millions more!

Tyrone will win by at least 4 imho.  They will win by alot more if murphy ends up out the field.  The way donegal play is nothing new to tyrone and they will relish it.  Derry V Tyrone final WILL be great.  Went to school with a few Clans men myself, remember them bumming about SoN before he burst on the scene

When I was growing up I never heard about any sectarian attrocities committed by the IRA but knew about all the others committed by the 'other side'.  Was horrified when by father told me about them and this is one that obviously stands out.  Even to this day I be amazed at how many mates are shocked when I tell them about it, normally after they have been on about some loyalist attrocity.

I heard from a reliable source that the reason Michael O Rourke was taken off was that Osin was heard saying "Get O rourke out of there" so paddy took him off.  He didnt realise he was talking about Paddy!

Armagh were very naive in not dropping someone back. Dropping Duffy, what was that about?? Totally destroyed in the middle plus the derry balls in to Bradley and gilligan were uncontested and any defender would find it hard to make them two guys when the supply was so good and plentiful. The better team won on the day and I hope they go on and win Ulster.

Andy Mallon needs to be congratulated for not planting his fist in Bradleys gub, every single play Bradley made he was in his ear telling him about it, even at 8 points up, I know I wanted him to dig him.
Balls!

I hear Paddy Bradley is back training with the County Squad and could be a shock inclusion in the panel for Sunday!

Anthony Tohill is back training as well.

That's just silly.....he's way past it!

John Brennan was up his house last night I heard. Tohill is 7 feet tall. ... if he were there he'd consume Armagh with fireballs from his eyes and bolts of lightning from his arse.

Ye see thats a load of shite!  There's only one man can do that

No...it cant be..surely not..... Is that Billy Joe padden, fcuk he looks raring to go, I retract all earlier statements!

Im getting off the fence! Derry to rampage in to the final!  :) Armaghs ulster championship to go up in flames just like their fuel laundering empire to the sound of the greatest GAA chant known to man: "Dery!.... Derry!..... Derry!...."  :D
