unlucky Rock, sore loss against another strong Kerry Divisional side (which is an utter balls of a system imo) at this grade

Glenbeigh-Glencar is a club side, not a divisional side. They play in division 6 at minor level in Kerry which is 11 a side as far as I know which shows they haven't a very big pick. Hard luck to the Rock but they were beaten by a genuine junior club in a tight game.

Fair enough not a divisional side but why are they playing in Division 1 League and beat Dr Crokes this year and then competing in the Junior Championship?

Are you sure, I had heard they play Division 1 football in Kerry and had 4 wins this year at that level and avoided relegation. However, their system is shambolic and is proven by the fact they have had now 8 winners at this grade now I believe at AI level.

at least 7 of glenbeigh's panel played for mid kerry against austin stacks in the kerry senior final in 2014 and took them to a replay, and 3 of them have senior medals from 2008. austin stacks were subsequently beaten by slaughtneil in the all-ireland semi.

never mind Darran O'Sullivan, their no.6 Pa Kilkenny was a panellist for kerry seniors when they won the all-ireland in 2014. he came on as a sub against mayo in the all-ireland semi replay in limerick. he also played against Tyrone in the league that year when they stuffed us down in killarney.

their no.7 Caolim Teahan won an All-Ireland minor last year.

Gavin O'Grady who scored 0-6 today won a Cork senior medal in 2011 with UCC.

despite all that obvious quality of Glenbeigh's, the Rock really put it up to them and can be proud of their efforts.

The divisional system in Kerry is a great way for junior players to get a chance to play at senior club level and pushes up the standards across all levels.

Didn't see too many Junior teams in Tyrone complaining when Rock decided to drop down to Junior level again at the end of 2015 or Tattyragh/Owen Roes/Brocagh/Castlederg when Rock put them out this year
Rock aren't short on men with county experience themselves  (Girvan, McGarrity, Gourley, M McCreesh etc)
No idea what the story is but if Martin McCreesh had been available they would likely be champions tonight

Agreed. While there are obviously issues around whether junior in kerry is the same as other counties for interCo competitions I think is a good idea. As mentioned above it gives some of the stand out players with smaller clubs a chance to show what they can do at the  top level.

Bottom line is you can't argue with Kerrys track record.

Aye good man, we decided to drop down a division! We were relegated fair and square unfortunately.

We gave a good account of ourselves yesterday but just came up short. Very proud of the lads effort and no complaints about senior teams etc, we just didn't manage to get over the line!

Hopefully we can stabilise in intermediate now.
If in doubt...get 'er out!

Seen most of it. You were v unlucky and can be proud of the showing. The 2nd red changed the game and was a brutal decision.

Do Killyclougher have no underage or have they been missed by accident?

edendork in grade 3 minor?

coalisland, clonoe and even cookstown were always predominantly grade 1 clubs at youth level. what's happened them this last couple of years?
