Going back to the Welbeck penalty claim, had another look at it and don't see how it wasn't given - looked a clear penalty.

Yeah it's a strange one.

Sky Sports refereeing pundit Dermot Gallagher said that he agreed that VAR could not overturn the decision.

"I think Mike Dean wasn't convinced it was a foul and the VAR can't intervene because being a subjective decision that it is... is it a coming-together or has he slipped?" said Gallagher.

"Mike Dean has a difficult call. He's not sure if Maguire catches Welbeck and the VAR, when he looks at it, has to go with the referee as it's not a clear and obvious error. It's one of those where you have to accept the ref's decision on the field and stand by it."

I couldnt see how it wasnt a clear and obvious error.

Maguire catches Wellbecks foot.

When you look at some of the decisions given this season it is even more baffling

Have people really not grasped how VAR works yet?

Because it was a United game at old Trafford.

Good result to bring back to Old Trafford. Very much a routine win and didn't need to come out of 2nd gear to win. Great touch and finish by Rashford on the opener, a stupid penalty given away by the Granada sub Eteki late on to allow united make it 2-0.

The ref the main talking point in that match. Turned a blind eye to Granada players fouling all night while booked 5 United players for fouls that weren't yellow card offences. McTominay, Shaw, Maguire suspended for the 2nd leg but should be alright without them.

None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

Decent game, Utd would feel aggrieved at the VAR decision but if the contact was deliberate and a foul surely the right decision from that was to send him off?

Spurs goal was very good. Should go on and win it from here, Utd not at the races these past few games

Yeah Son made a meal of it but McTominay swung his hand back and hit him in the face it's still a fluke no matter what way you look at it. The rest is just noise people need to calm down.

"It's not football as we know it!"

What a load of nonsense!

Itchy

Ridiculous decision in my opinion.

GJL

Soft as f**k. Son went down like he was shot. The state of him laying with medics 'treating' him. Embarrassing.

How the ref on second viewing didn't see Son was conning the officials is very strange.

Man United fans complaining about players going down easy is pretty hilarious with all the soft penalties they've got this season for their players doing exactly the same thing...
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

How's retaining your 1st Premier League title going then?

Could be wrong but dont think Laoislad was heavily involved

We haven't seen him on the United thread much during Loserpool's 6 in a row at home achievement so presumably there's a connection? 😅
