I think if Down had gotten over the line against Galway, Ordhran Murdock would have been in with a good shot of an all star in either midfield or half forward line. Can't see Burns getting one over the likes of Patton or Morgan and even Beggan who have gone further in the competiton.

Lewis Capaldi was brilliant!
Smashed it out of the park in what was a very nervous moment for him revisiting 2023 again. It must be awful knowing you have the ability but at the back of your mind you never know when the tourettes could flare up again.

Quote from: befair on June 16, 2025, 03:23:30 PMDown's best performance for years; were the better team for 60 mins, just couldn't drive on when we'd gone 4 pts ahead. Hard to blame the ref for the Monaghan goal; officials don't have slow motion replays. Breaching the 3-man rule was worse; we were on a promising attack, and against Beggan that's a 3pt turn around. Surely at least one of the management team could be in charge of policing the players to avoid such a crucial mistake.

IMO the goalkeeper/deepest defender is in charge of passing the information up the line to who has to hold there position on the line. At least that is how our club does it

Quote from: Nanderson on June 15, 2025, 05:22:58 PMGutsy performance from Down this afernoon in a game that had all the hallmarks of a game where both teams didn't really have much to lose. I imagine once the knockout games start next week we will see the scoring in games come right down. In the end it was the team that made the least mistakes in the last quarter that were able to get across the line. I'm of the opinion that the 3 man breach punishment rule is too severe but at the end of the day Down know the rules and it was they who broke them in an attack that probably would have seen us go back to 1 point behind which instead ended in us going 4 down which ended up being the difference. I feel we have to try and get more from the likes of James Guinness who seems to be hooked at half time too often for a player of his quality.

Down have every chance now in a home game agaisnt either Cork, Galway or Mayo/Cavan/Tyrone

Cork,Cavan or Galway - dont think we  can  play Louth again?
No there can be no repeats of previous championship ties, so if Donegal had of lost to Mayo we wouldn't have been able to play them either

Downs energy has gone here. McCarron has been the difference in this half.

Has the education failed these Dublin players? Is it that hard to count to 3

Quote from: ardtole on May 30, 2025, 02:33:08 PMI know it's what ifs, but if Daryl Brannigan had to have made himself available, meaning Daniel Guinness could be pushed up to the half forward line, alongside Liam Kerr (I know), and possibly Danny Magill. And a fully fit Barry O'Hagan alongside Havern in the ff line it would certainly leave Down a lot stronger.

But I'm sure every county could say the same, I'm looking forward to the game on Saturday, hopefully 2 points and have a right crack of Monaghan who we produced our best display against so far this year.
Just on Barry, is he back playing for Clonduff at all or did that horrific injury forceably retire him?

Gordon Lyons waited until after the anthem to take his seat. Would have been hilarious if they played it again once he got to his seat  ;)

Surely that was a tap over free from a breach by Tyrone. Why was it a free only on the half way line?

Quote from: Capt Pat on May 18, 2025, 12:18:50 AMI thought Israel were going to win it when Estonia fell short of their total by one point. The staging of that contest in Israel next year would have been fun.

Funny the UK getting zero points from the public again as well as Switzerland. I think Estonia won the popular vote.
I take it there is some sort of campaign ran by supporters of genocide to flood the system with votes for Israel.
Israel had paid for adverts to vote for Israel on the official Eurovision youtube live stream

I'm sorry but how was that tap an go allowed by Byrne. He was about 15 yards away from the foul
