Bournemouth have 25 points. Not sure if they are in form or not

But a top of the league team should be winning like that every week against teams sitting in 12th place.

You are right Arsenal and Man City have beaten Bournemouth 0-4 and 6-1 respectively. Anyone that loses to Bournemouth, especially at home - can only consider themselves as midtable mediocrity.

Completely.. I hope you're not using Utd's dismissal performances as a yardstick to make your post?

Captain Obvious

More results like that and some bookmarkers will start paying out early on Liverpool to win this seasons Premier league title.

I was talking about the real contenders...... What made you think I was talking about Man Utd?

They had won 6 out of last 8 league games losing away to Spurs and drawing with villa who have arguably been team of season. While this is a game  Liverpool should be winning if are going to be serious title contenders if was on paper a difficult game and Bournemouth have improved dramatically over the past few months.

Ok

You could never put Utd in the real contender category. What were you thinking?   ;)

Ignore him he's a WUM. Realistically any well organised side are going to be a big challenge for Liverpool given the slew of players missing. Liverpool are down to playing their 3rd choice LB and 3rd choice RB, a first choice centre-half, 4 of the 8 choices in midfield and their best player and top scorer. Today's result was very impressive given how the first half showed how it could have turned out for them, i.e. flat and disjointed.

Next few games will tell the story. Liverpool have two tough games coming up while Man City have two easy enough fixtures. You'd expect City will be back on top after it.

Would be no suprise to see Liverpool drop 4 points from those next 2 games.

City won't drop a point before March. It's fecking years since we beat Chelsea (apart from on penos) so that won't change. But we're playing better now than we have been all season, so we'll likely make Ciry earn it.

Hopefully Arsenal spend massive on Solanke. Leading goalscorer, he's exactly what they need  :D

ONeill

Enjoyed that Liverpool second half. Klopp has them playing nice football.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Quote from: Hound on January 21, 2024, 06:43:51 PMGood win against a team in good form.

Absolutely cast iron pen not given to Jota when we were only 1 up and I thought that would come back to bite,  but they dug it out.

Very good performances and finishes from Jota and Darwin. It took us a while to get going, but during that period MacAllister was our driving force, one of his best games for us I thought. Konate playing really well, but if that was an injury he suffered at the end it could be very costly.

Young Bradley playing terrific, great to see an Irish lad holding his own

Jota was being punished for his dive against Newcastle. It was definitely a penalty today.
