A very short time ago I checked and it was £520 for a thousand litres, like 3 weeks ago.  Today I bought it for £677.  Ridiculous.  There's something wrong with the market if it leaps fifty quid at a time, especially during a cost of living crisis. Maybe I panicked - only time will tell.

Noticed that today, our local was at 138.9p for ages and now all of a sudden it is up 4p.

139 in Tesco Cookstown this evening.

Prices for diesel barely changed for months then up 3 or 4p this past week. What's that about?

And during the summer too!

If it goes up ten quid a week it gives you a chance to spot a trend and make your move.  But I reckon it's jumped fifty quid two weeks in a row, and all the suppliers are moving together.  You haven't a chance.

There's not a shortage of oil, damn racket, people starting to order up with weather been colder than normal.

0.25% upwards the move being tipped. Maybe 0.5. Slim chance it stays the same.

If the rate goes up, then Sterling goes up and so diesel, petrol and oil go down in the occupied territories.

It looks like it will be a very long time before we ever see low interest rates again.

armaghniac

Those low interest rates were an aberration, they were never going to remain quite that low.
