https://www.moneysupermarket.com/mobile-phones/guides/roaming-charges-explained/

Nevertheless, there are still networks that offer inclusive EU roaming. Many budget networks – giffgaff, Tesco Mobile, Asda Mobile, iD Mobile, SMARTY, Lycamobile and Lebara – still include EU roaming for no extra charge in their plans. But there's usually a fair usage policy in place, which limits the amount of data you can use while you're away.

Quote from: illdecide on December 07, 2023, 10:09:47 AMBeen a Lurgan man all my life, it has its downsides surely but has some great positives too. It's no different to any other town, it has it's fights and it's anti-social behaviour but the drugs thing is a real problem. this drug thing is not just for Lurgan, the whole country is awash with Cocaine and other substances. I had a conversation last night with one of the top trainers in the GAA circles and he told me you'd be astonished by the people who take Cocaine, County players, club players, professionals, basically all walks of life and he said it's not just weekends either. I have heard all the stories about it and maybe i'm a wee bit green when it comes to things like that. The thing that goes on now is not sectarian as these drug dealers are from both communities and religion would very rarely come into it, it's all about the drugs and money and I've no doubt the source is all coming from Dublin. To stop all this you need to cut the head of the snake and we all know who the snake is...This is the only aspect i miss the Ra for, these Dublin cartels may well have been eliminated many years ago before they got to the "untouchable" stage.

Unfortunately I believe this isn't confined to towns or cities, it's very much in the rural communities too. I'd be like yourself and green to it all when you hear about such and such and you'd be taken aback.

Thankfully something i've never got involved in, bad enough dealing with alcohol and it's a legalised "drug"!

Quote from: seafoid on December 05, 2023, 04:56:10 PMZionism will collapse  when the economic system does. Certain Jews manipulate US public opinion to keep apartheid going. Israel is evil.  Apartheid is wrong. Everyone is afraid of the lobby. Tammany Hall was the same in the 20s. It also collapsed.

I hope you're right on Zionism.
But I do think that saying Israel is evil needs to be qualified. There are plenty of ordinary Israelis who don't agree with what's happening in Gaza. Now saying the Israeli leadership/state is evil, I'd have no issue with.

Agree with tbrick - that's the exact danger currently playing out in Ireland with the "all foreigners" craic.

You have to nail the bastards who are responsible and not tar everybody with the same brush.  And rotten bastards they are committing this genocide.

Quote from: Smokin Joe on November 09, 2022, 08:11:16 PMAs I said on this thread a few months ago, I wouldn't touch anything else right now, but I'm happy that Bitcoin is a great purchase at the current prices (sub $17k) to hold for a couple of years.  I'm happy for this quote to be retrieved in 2 years.
This bear market has shown that there is Bitcoin and "crypto". Bitcoin is not crypto.

It's not rocket science.  As an investment, provide you use just a little bit of common sense it's hard to get much better risk adjusted returns as the boom / bust cycles have been so strong since its inception.

Do you have a price in your head that is your cashout point?  Or even a partial cashout.

A lot harder in practice to cash out I know, if / when the price continues to rise

Quote from: IolarCoisCuain on November 22, 2023, 07:26:53 PMHas anyone any recommendations for a VPN that allows someone in the Republic of Ireland to access the BBC iPlayer? I've tried both ExpressVPN and NordVPN, and struck out with both (by which I mean, the iPlayer software has dectected that I'm using a VPN, rather than the VPN failing to identify me as a Mancunian, or whatever).

That link might help with what gallsman has mentioned above

I cannot wait for a SF government in the south. The nonsense will be off the charts.

I think Ben moved on, maybe you should too...

He also appeared on newstalk in Dec 2010 supporting Sinn Fein going into government

Yes, forget all the awkward stuff like kidnappings and murders.  It's much easier to shout about housing and health from opposition benches.
They'll probably get their chance soon enough - fine gael will be 13 years in power which is enough, but when in power, SF are either going to have to disappoint a lot of their core vote or alienate the rest of the electorate.

There seems to have been plenty forgotten / forgiven from the early 20th century....

So Israel may have to stop soon. Bipartisanship meaning full  GOP and Democrat support for Israel meant it was shielded from accountability but this is over now.  It is getting very interesting.

No, the dog is off the lead. Yanks have created a raging maniac he won't stop based on their words now.

100%, the Yanks enabled the whole thing, f**king wankers

Brolly podcast was interesting, yer man Dion really is dying to blurt I stand with Israel, I'd say he fairly regrets getting involved in the podcast now, its basically the Joe show, mind you fair fucks to Brolly for pushing on with calling it out and using the platform afforded him

I would imagine the same boy had a fair idea what he was getting into, and Joe would be the draw to the podcast. More importantly increasing whatever revenue they get from it.

QuoteJustice served.

Couple of borderline dangerous comments about a defendant's right to a fair trial. "At taxpayers expense" etc. Need to have a hard look at yourselves.

QuoteNo...I think you need to look at yourself

A Romany Gypsy, who's never contributed a blessed thing to this country, murdered an innocent woman in cold blood.

He doesn't work.  He has five kids. He's on disability. He lives in a five bedroom house. All paid for by the taxpayer

You have the cheek to come on here and scold people who are upset that their taxes are used to provide him the best legal aid money can buy ?

Bowman is one of the best (and obviously best paid) Barristers in the country
QuoteAs much as there seemed ti be little doubt in this trial and in a just world he'd have been killed slowly, everyone absolutely is entitled to a fair trial, which includes a good defence.  Anything else is a slippery slope

Agreed. You have to do the thing right and a fair trial and defence is a basic entitlement to all.  The worst thing that could happen would be the case thrown out due to outside interference with attacks on Bowman or the likes.

My previous post was more questioning how difficult it would be to remain professional defending such a case with overwhelming evidence.

Quote from: Bord na Mona man on November 09, 2023, 03:08:00 PMThankfully Puska didn't sway any of jury with his yarn.
Therein lies the weakness of the legal system. There is no incentive to plead guilty for murder, you might as well try and play silly buggers in court with a state sponsored legal team backing you. Same sentence regardless.

Hopefully some of the more informed posters here can comment - but you'd wonder how the defence team feel when trying to put forward an argument of not guilty, when clearly everything points to that guilt.

It's bound to be very difficult to be professional in such a case. Or is it a possibility than the defence team would be happy enough to put a token defence up?

Agree with all posters about the lack of remorse. Followed the trial on twitter and it was rotten what the bastard done.

Quote from: snoopdog on November 08, 2023, 08:42:44 AMTicket prices are ridiculous. I went for pitch tickets for this gig because there is a limit im prepared to pay. As I was in cusack last time he played and the sound was dreadful. Thinking pitch is cheaper and might get better sound.  This will be my last time going to see Bruce at those prices. Also heading to Manics in Trinity and its around 40 euro to see them and suede.  Much more reasonable.

If you tolerate this, then your children will be next!

I'll be making some tweaks for the next while, so the server might be stop/start.

I see there are some alternative themes in the settings, will there be a dark mode available? (should suit some of the topics and general tone!  ;D )

Hi John,
Are there any themes here that suit?
https://custom.simplemachines.org/index.php?action=themes

They will need to be compatible with SMF 2.1, so you you'll need to click the filter on the search.

Lunarfall and SociWT Theme both seem decent. cheers!
