I know the running machine can't replicate running out on the roads, but I've got to start somewhere!! I ran 5k tonight at the gym on the machine, the time was 21.53. What would be the difference? Obviously I'd be slower outside.

Jez, I would have thought that was decent? What speed did ya have it on?

Started on 8.5 mph for 16 mins and dropped it for a minute and a half then finished on 9.5 mph. I think I can go quicker on the machine but I'll wait and see what the roads do

There's a link to last week's results.

Everyone fits in at it - that's the good thing about it.  27.5 and you'd have plenty of runners around you - and behind you.

Thinking of doing the run this weekend. I know its free and you need your bar code, so what time do most arrive at? 15 minutes before race? Do you have to register before the off? Parking? Cheers in advance lads

I used to live just of the Lisburn road many years ago, was dandering home with the mate and another girl, we cut through the street that runs along side Dublin road, dodgy as fcuk I know, nature called and i had a piss up an entry. When i got back onto the street my friends were away down the other end.

Two boyos arrived on my shoulder and asked the usual stupid questions "alright mate, whats your name, where ya from, where ya heading to, say h" (made that bit up) eventually they took a wild guess and called me a Fenian cnut!!! maybe it was my good looks and charm that convinced them :D

At this point i pushed off from them and ran, ran like my life depended on it. they were squealing (like f**king mad men) going to shoot you, ya b**tard and so on. Never catching me.

My friends seen this happening and alerted the police who were really close (by chance), the police came down the street looking for me. The first place they looked for me was in the black bins!!! Just shows you that they knew that these animals would cut ya up and f**k you into a bin to die!!!

Very lucky boy
Would it not be safe to say if you had of zipped down your top and showed them a rangers jersy they would still have given you hammering because they didnt know you?  Scum are scum and sometimes the sectarian issue is just an excuse.

Exactly my point, when they didn't know they just attacked anyway, a guess which could have ended my life!!

Lowlifes. Why is sectarianism so deeply ingrained in Loyalism?

Obviously sectarianism occurs on both sides of the spectrum but the sheer venom you get with Loyalists is unrivaled. They are a truly disturbed people.

Lets not generalise.

These feckers who carry this out wont be changing in a hurry, its a mindset handed down by their families, deep rooted and as long as they live in these ghettos they will continue to generate this hatred.

Be an interesting game, the Munster champions will think they have the best side of the draw (getting Ulster) and Loughgiel no doubt will try and prove that last years game wasn't a true reflection of how they can play. When was the last time the county champions got to the final? (Dunloy)

I know NAG1 a bit of composure can make all the difference, that game from last year will I'm sure help.

Are Loughgiel stronger than last year? Going by the county final they are only a couple of points better but that was playing against a team without their main player, who would have made a big difference.

Scoring averages alone would lead me to believe that LG will come up short, look at championship scores over the past couple or years. Big games and then look at the semi finals over past number of years and see what typical score it will take to win a semi.

Just statistics I know but wouldn't leave me with much confidence.

What i took from last years semi final was the amount of ball dropped which on normal occasions would have been caught and delivered up field, maybe nerves the occasion got to them. DD was only hitting midfield with his puck outs to which was strange, Hogan played mainly (in first half) in the full back area so he could have hit further.

Improve on last years attempt and they could get over the line against poor Munster opposition. considering the teams from years ago.

I think slot machines are as bad as lads heading to the bookies. I only spend a tenner a week online, as i have been doing online betting i have not been at the bookie shop which i think has saved me money.

Betting online also means that the wife can see what is being spent, good in that it's easily visible that i only spend a tenner a week (I can afford that) and would keep me from betting more. In the past year i took money out 4 times (80 to 100 quid each time) so while I'm still down it's not hurting me.

For me betting online is better that heading to bookies, the shop have the slot machines were lads sit there and are doing both!! I have noticed a lot of my students are wile for the betting so i believe it's getting worse.

Was thinking of heading down for the practice day. You can get closer to the players and it's less hassle getting accommodation I'd imagine.
You could go and not take any drink.

Drink?
