Arsenal have had a superb season. No one was expecting them to even challenge for the title, never mind sustain that challenge for so long with their squad. Arteta has done amazing work.

And once again, City, with all their endless resources, have had to put a ridiculous run of wins together to overtake them.

Bolster the squad and there's no reason why Arsenal shouldn't be up there for the coming seasons.

Heard on an Athletic podcast that they're the most likely destination for Declan Rice.

When the pressure came on Arsenal only getting 9 points from 21 greatly helped Manchester City to overtake them and Arsenal had no distraction of domestic cup competitions as out of both in the early rounds and the Europa league exit in early March was meant to be a blessing in disguise.

Pressure exerted by City's relentlessness and vast experience and compounded by Arsenal's lack of experience and options.

Arsenal should be better for it next time if they can build on it. Not guaranteed of course.

They've still had a great season IMO. Without them it would be 20-21 all over again with City coasting to the finish line in neutral.

The chasing pack don't  have any standout teams... Newcastle ran out of steam too. Liverpool need an MOT for their midfield. will they get the money? Man Utd are a long way from the finished article.

Did surely, but think their goose was cooked before the last defeat. If you count 7 games before that, it was 12 points rom 21, only defeat being the MC decider. The 6 points dropped from the 3 draws was the real killer, but even at that against a normal team it mightn't have been so terminal. This City team on run-ins are something else.

The Europa league exit was actually a terrible night for them as they lost Saliba and have been defensively poor since. That and inexperience derailed them. They coped ok for a couple of games but a major turning point was the game against Liverpool, when in control, Xhaka stupidly riled the Liverpool team and crowd and got them back into match.

ONeill

Looks like Tierney is away, or Arteta just doesn't fancy him at all. Hard to see Vieira sticking about if Arsenal are wanting to raise it a level next year.

I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

It all depends on the owner, same as in every other club. Say he did invest enough. Arsenal might get one.
Man City do everything better . the Premiership is worse than the Dub 6 in a row.

Hard to say we didn't bottle it after that result yesterday.. Arteta gone into meltdown past few weeks. Partey at RB yesterday looked totally lost.. Fabio Vieira looks like flop of the season but he still persists with him over Smith-Rowe.. Depending on signings in the summer I wouldn't be too optimistic about next year

He'd be a very "un-arsenal" target. Nothing wrong with that. Could do with a burly centre forward who throws himself about. Too many nice players still

Looks like the board are rewarding Arteta by backing him in the transfer market with significant signings which will see a major change to the wage structure and overall wage bill at the club. That carries its own risks but it's the path clubs needs to take if they want to get to the top and stay there.

Interesting to see if their trust in him will be rewarded in the coming years and he goes on to become a great manager or if he has already plateaued.

Still spending less on wages that we were 3 years ago. A lot of deadweight on the books has been cleared out - Still Pepe and Cedric on a high wage to get rid off - also a few others that will generate income once they leave this summer.

Xhaka, Balogun, Partey, Tavares, Pepe, Patino if sold should generate over 100m in sales. Then Lavia likely going to Liverpool so theres a bid of £77m being prepared for Tchoumeni of Madrid if they can't meet Mbappes price tag and need to offload to get him in

Raya a strange signing?

Think Arteta still not fully convinced about Ramsdale. Turner away
