Experience of challenges to previous GAA rulings should show you a good legal mind would probably walk all over this decision if laois wanted to go down that route. As a laois person I wouldn't like them fighting this in committee rooms. We've already won this once on the pitch (and no matter what people hide behind the truth is laois were by far the better team) and it would be preferable to do it's that way again

Surely it's the 4th official's responsibility to oversee substitutions. It's very haphazard the way substitutions work. The soccer style would have resolved the Armagh error. Make the sub wait on the line until the man you're replacing makes his way over rather than the sub rushing on to the field trying to grab everyone's attention. Maybe they should also look at the rugby system and allow teams empty the bench given the high intensity of games nowadays. I know it might effect the flow of the game but having a clock you stop ala rugby would solve that

Sometimes we should just enjoy the ride. Far from perfect but massive commitment and desire to win. The players were thrilled at the end and they deserve some joy. Watching Gary Walsh and Mick Lillis embrace at the end just showed we are a mad shower of hoors like no other

I've said it before and I'll repeat it....it all starts with proper juvenile coaching. The county board should be putting a massive effort into up-skilling all juvenile club coaches from 6-12 especially. That's where all the fundamental skills are learnt. Look at Ciaran Kilkenny's ability to kick 40 yards points off left and right feet highlighted on the Sunday Game tonight. That's taught to kids U10 after that it's too late. Clubs should be delivering kids with all the basic skills (left & right) to County Development squads so they can all be brought to a higher level. These squads should not be about teaching skills but how to use them at an elite level. No reason why 50 top class kids can't be produced year on year. It would take time but you have to start

We're constantly told Dublin are a professional outfit and the battle for starting places is intense so I don't buy into this taking the foot off the pedal. Gavin won't be happy with their performance. We caused them problems with our 2nd half set-up and you'd wonder why we didn't start that way. Other teams will have noted. Interesting that Cunningham was much more evident on the line after the break. Love to know who called the shots at ht and changed things. Well done to everyone. They showed pride, bravery and plenty of desire after a terrible start. Let's hope it continues and lessons were learnt

Blueandwhite1 you have to remember Tyrone players are probably rehearsing and implementing all those skills/strategies you list since they started representing their county at U14 level so it's a natural progression for Mickey Harte to aimply tweek things. We don't have that planned progression. Various managers at underage just seem to do their own thing. So your not comparing like with like. The whole set up has to be looked at. We can't just isolate the senior side and expect miracles if the foundation us not there.
Remember when Babs managed our hurlers he made quite an insulting comment that he was wasting time coaching skills to our senior team that U14s had in Tipp. Thankfully our hurling side seem to have gone a long way to rectifying that but I'm afraid it may be pertinent to our football side now. They're all good committed lads but maybe the whole system has failed them

Sometimes I think we've an over inflated opinion of our players. We haven't had a set of backs that could defend properly in years. Even in mickos time they weren't great but compensated in other ways. Laois players seem to either lunge in and get exposed or throw a flailing arm at an attacker. People might point to mc nultys time but when did we really come close to winning an important game. It's one thing keeping the score down but you're supposed to try and win games. Not saying you couldn't improve the current set up but I am saying we simply don't coach the arts of defending, tackling, kicking, decision making like other counties. Until we do that routinely with kids county wide we'll keep having the same arguments about senior managers for decades to come

It's disappointing for all concerned. Everybody involved wants the best for laois. I do believe it all comes down to coaching received as lads develop. I'm sure if you contrasted juvenile club coaching here with top counties you'd see some differences. Its not all about money either. Club people have r to start educating themselves with current top practices - with county boards help. There is a new pathway being launched in a fortnight and hopefully that will start something but at this stage you're looking at a 10 year project.
Not knocking anybody but underage county managers have to start being people with top class qualifications and ideas. Not just former great players who have given fantastic service and coached club sides for a few years

Very good performance. Everyone fought until the end. Lost their way a bit in the 3rd quarter but came back strongly. Moved the ball very well at times but occasionally resorted to long hopeful balls into the full forward line which Tyrone lapped up.
they are so well drilled and never seem to switch off or hesitate. When they attack runners go each side of the ball. We still don't do that every time. I think that's why Niall donoher and Paul cahillane seemed to be running aimless at times, they had no support. Not picking on him cos i thought he gave an outstanding display but as an example at 1 stage in the 1st half Robbie kehoe handpassed to Niall donoher on our half forward line under the stand. He immediately turned and started trotting back leaving Niall with no support. 3 Tyrone players forced Niall into the corner and turned over the ball. They then immediately attacked at pace and scored. In a similar situation their cornerback would have continued running to support and his position would be covered. It's a tough disciplined game they play. You need to be extremely fit, fully focussed and prepared to work. It will take our lads a while to completely tune in but they showed signs yesterday they can play that type of game to a decent level.

Yeah Evan is a very exciting prospect. Very strong direct runner and well able to take a score. Just hope he doesn't turn into a 'one trick pony' and teams cotton on to his style. No harm if he's encouraged to mix it up a bit instead of constantly running with it

In fairness i believe Paul o shea has put all the structures in place for abbeyleix to be successful. He has 'the Kilkenny man' in to coach the team. Management is all about putting the right people in the right positions and have everything organised properly to improve the chances of success. He played for long enough to know good hurlers. The only question will be the ability to change things during a game.

Don't think midfield was problem Sunday. Can remember lillis, whelan & glynn all catching high balls in there in 2nd half when town were really putting the pressure on.
Can't understand why mdma is getting so much praise he kicked away some amount of ball. Dublin weren't long dumping him to subs when a footballing midfielder (Fenton) came along. He's a workhorse and a bully but he's far from genuine midfielder. He should have dominated Sunday but he didn't
