General discussion / Re: New Car Advice
« on: September 25, 2022, 11:19:57 PM »
Looking to buy a family car to fit two car seats and good space in the boot. Basically looking a reliable spacious car. Had been looking at a Vauxhall Grandland X. Anybody have one of these? Itís probably between that and a trusty VW Tiguan. VW hard to beat. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Nissan X-Trail worth thinking about. I have one and really like it.

GAA Discussion / Re: County Manager Merry go round

From the Irish independent

Vinny Corey is to be appointed the new Monaghan football manager.

Monaghan will bring their exhaustive search for a replacement for Seamus McEnaney to an end later with Corey's approval.

It is expected that he will have his brother Martin at his side as a coach. Martin Corey has been with Mickey Graham in Cavan in recent years.

Other backroom appointments are expected by Corey who had a long and distinguished career as a Monaghan footballer, winning two Ulster titles in 2013 and 2015, before retiring in late 2019.

Corey is a Clontibret clubmate of Conor McManus and the expectation is now that the veteran forward will commit for another year.

Corey had been part of McEnaney's backroom team in 2021 and 2022, working as a coach and selector.

Willy Moen not getting the job then?

To make reunification a reality, OíNeill must win over those from a unionist background, or at least assuage them that she is no threat.

We went to Caiscais a little later in June - my second time. Perfect for combining beach with city break. We got the train too. You can do a tour by rickshaw if Lisbon - they will even theme it as you like (eg focus on food, wine etc). We visited Benficaís stadium - you can get food or a drink looking out on the stadium if you time it right (we didnít, they were closing).
We also went out to Sintra - old palace town place - not for kids but worth a look.
Some of the restaurants in the main touristy area of Cascais are overpriced, but there are some other lovely ones further up the hills (youíll know what I mean).

Where are you staying? We stayed at Miragem hotel, it was brilliant.

Iím staying at the Miragem as well! Iím taking my kids, 21 & 19 so will probably go Sintra as well as a day trip to Lisbon.
Cost of living crisis? What crisis lol

Ha ha! Havenít had a holiday in 3 years! I deserve this.

Nothing wrong with the Westmeath goal, you are allowed to play the ball on the ground if you lose balance.

Very True

Ideologically is there any difference between Johnson and McGuirk? Two right wing c***ts.

Did this teacher get suspended or fired from his job prior to this trial?

Probably got promoted

My kids went to this school. Thankfully they didnít have him as their teacher, they are both very gifted at maths and got very little support as the school as they didnít tend to focus their attention on the more capable pupils. We were lucky we were able to support them with extra tuition. Both are now taking engineering degrees at university.
