These 2 heavy-weights of league football go head to head in a battle for the ages.

Can Dublin do a league three in a row to set them up for the arduous assault on Leinster?

Could Cork win some silverware this year under Cuthbert to make up for the loss of their McGrath Cup title?

GAA Discussion / Cork v Donegal 2pm throw-in
April 06, 2015, 04:24:19 PM
Both sides have provincial finals at U21 level during the week - Donegal on Wednesday, Cork on Thursday so that will be interesting to see how

Donegal's first championship game against Tyrone is only 5 weeks off while Cork's first championship action is 9 weeks off against the winner of the Clare/Limerick tie.

Both sides ended up with an equal scoring difference with Cork scoring 10-89 and conceding 7-90, while Donegal scored 6-75 and conceded 5-70. Basically Cork scored 26 points more than Donegal and conceded 26 more points.

The league game between the two sides ended in a one point Donegal win - Donegal 0-12 Cork 1-8

GAA Discussion / Games on the telly next weekend

Tyrone v Derry and Cavan v Down on Saturday night on Setanta

Kerry v Dublin live on TG4 on Sunday with Donegal v Cork shown delayed.

Fancy Tyrone to struggle home as with Lynch missing for Derry it's very hard to see them getting a result

Will be interesting to see how Kerry v Dublin goes - odds are both of these two will have a decent chunk of their serious operators missing, so I think it will be Dublin's slightly better strength in depth likely to get them the result.

Fancy Donegal to get the 2 points at home against Cork.

GAA Discussion / Home v Away Advantage in the League
January 30, 2015, 02:50:48 PM
Thought these stats on the advantage of home versus away in the league would be of interest, especially for any gamblers.

Interesting that in Division 4 home advantage is the smallest - wouldn't have thought that.

7 years of data makes this 824 games by my reckoning. (112 this year and last but prior to that 120 games with Kilkenny in Division 4)

Lots of unfamiliar names in the Cork starting 15 lineup ; however the big talking point is surely Michael Cussen at midfield.

Will surely have too much for Mary I

Also Waterford take on UL in Fraher Field Dungarvan @ 2:00pm

Has there been any word on which way Aidan Walsh has decided to go in terms of which code he's going to play next year?

I thought it was a bit strange he didnt say which way he was going when he made the decision he was only going with one code but the management situation wasnt sorted then. However given JBM is staying on I assumed that he was likely to say that he was going the hurling route.

What's the situation with the other lads who were dual last year Cadogan and Cahelane? Will they be going hurling or football or will they be attempting both?
