I still think they will be the team to beat and they will be hungrier next year. They are still young enough too and have a conveyor belt of minor talent coming through.

Des Cahill lured him into that to try and get some headlines.
There is a real Jose Mourinho siege mentality with tyrone sometimes. Tyrone's own supporters are even critical of Harte's style of football. It's not that appealing on the eye so if it was anyone it would be slated. To be fair it has got a lot better.
Jim McGuinness and Donegal got equally as much criticism whenever they were playing football which appealed to no-one but themselves and they struggled to shake the stigma off. This is pretty much where Tyrone are at too I would say.
Nice attempt at a straw man, the thread is about RTE treament of Mickey Harte in regardess a personal tragedy in his life.
If you want to compare can you recall RTE ever poking fun at JMG's family tragedy?

How much of a factor is the Carthy thing in this or is it purely relating to his daughter?
Really you would hope it gets resolved as it makes a farce of things leading up to an AI.
Does harte want an apology or as it stands what does it take to resolve it? My understanding was Carthy was the main factor but I could be wrong on that.
There's been a lot of 'guff' directed at Tyrone and personally at Mickey Harte in subsequent years from prominent pundits that have exacerbated the situation. Apparently the falling attendances, boring games, death of the corner forward are all Mickey Harte's fault.

I tend to agree with that. I was afraid that the final was going to end up being a damp squib that the championship definitely didn't merit. My fears about Limerick's shooting came true, but I didn't expect Galway to suffer from the same malaise. That saved Limerick. The last 15 minutes rescued the game, and gave the championship the climax it deserved at the end.
There was one moment that summed up the 'new' Limerick attitude, and it happened very early in the game, maybe 2 or 3 minutes in. Cian Lynch won a ball on the ground, via a chop pickup (where you chop the sliotar into the ground and it comes up into your hand). I thought it was audacious and in the first few minutes I think it showed Limerick felt they were comfortable there. The fact he did it again in the last couple of minutes when the fat was was in the fire was unreal.
re Marty, he's too scripted. He has these monologues ready to go, and by hook or by crook he's going to get them in. He started on the Limerick victory speech way too early. Talking about Ballybrown, Kilmallock and ''Downtown Patrickswell" (FFS). I said to my wife that he was a bit early bringing out that speech. And as for the 'Linger' stuff, painful and forced. Marty's introduction on radio to the final last year was very good. It made the hair on your neck stand up. The problem there is it went viral, and I think Marty now feels everything has to have a 'moment'. Yesterday was a day when a few well placed words would have been enough as the emotion was obvious. but he had to go full blown soliloquy and he gilded the lily.

The towel went in quick
How? He was being outclassed the entire fight (as was expected) and had been badly hurt and down the previous round. He was looking to the referee for protection for no reason whatsoever when taking big shots. Corner got it absolutely bang on.
That's interesting. You got absolutely none of that detail on the tv! Commentary ridiculously one sided so they didn't say much about jackson.
Had it on the radio last night in work and they listened in to Jackson's corner at the start of the round, Jackson didn't want to go back out but the corner told him to go out on his shield and give them 30seconds.
Commentators couldn't believe it saying it was a disgrace sending their man back out, it's their duty to protect him
