Will the Omagh luck run out on sunday? Think they will win by a few points. Everything seems to be falling into place for them this year and wouldn't be surprised to see another last minute goal. Hard to believe young Clarke is back training!!

All those lucky All-Ireland winners at minor and senior for Tyrone, club Ulster minor and U21 winners, all-ireland winners at scor, all-ireland finalists in ladies football in consecutive seasons. A club that while playing in an Ulster club semi-final hosted the second semi-final at the same time. Forget high achievers with a great amount of hard work and dedication (not unlike countless other clubs), lucky sums it up far better.

Are John Mitchells any good?? Or would Oilean Aran be expected to win this??

I was reading an interview with the Aran manager there today and he said Mitchells are quite a big strong side whereas Aran are more fast and nippy. Seeing them in the Connacht final they are a very pacy skillful team alright but not the biggest physically. He also said they are running on fumes a bit at the moment having been out 12 weekends in a row. I think they got a bit of a hammering from Moycullen last weekend in the league.

A junior club team out 12wks in a row cus Mayo got to AI semi final? That is obscene

Mike Ashley having to bail them out, Craigy boy extradited from Mexico to appear in court, the Rangers shop in Belfast city centre closing down, Castle Greyskull looking at yet another share issue ... there's no end to this soap opera

Hopefully not, long may it continue. As long as a club can get 30k supporters through the gate every week it'll not go bust, a cash cow but not in the conventional sense

JM are a formidable team not to be taken lightly, should be a good game tomorrow, 3-4 points either way imo

Gallsman I can vouch for that.100% true as I'm involved on the periphery.A lot of what goes on in public is set up with feigned insult and injury given and taken. The real joke is that many (just as evidenced by this thread) take it seriously

Right so these elected representatives are playing a game of shadow insults to achieve what goal?

This is a hugely popular competition and always has been. Why do people consistently change the subject to scrapping the series every f***ing time it's played?

Half empty stadiums, brawling and indigenous teams being three of the primary reasons.

While these games are taken seriously and aren't called friendlys, they're not a whole pile different to a friendly when it boils down to it. Will the Aussies lose much sleep over losing to us at the end of a long season? Not a chance. Would they rate it as more important than a match in the Rugby championship never mind the WC? Not a chance. The northern hemisphere teams rate these games higher than the southern but even then they're below the 6 nations games. Nice to win, esp beating two big teams back to back but ultimately meaningless
In international rugby the hierarchy of importance is as follows:

1.: The British Loins Tour - this is the absolute pinnacle, with well over a century of history and tradition attached to it - the one everybody dreams of playing in and winning.
2. The World Cup - the premier internatonal rugby knockout tournament.
3. The Three Nations Tournament - the four home unions do battle with the continentals.
4. The Autumn (winter) and Summer Test Matches. Ireland are traditionally very competitive in the Autumn (winter) matches. Not so good when it comes to the summer matches or 1, 2 and 3 above.

So you think a British Lions tour win would mean more to an International rugby player than winning the World Cup for their country? Really?
Representing your Empire in an event which dates back to 1888 is a bigger deal than representing your country in an event that dates back to 1987. This should be obvious.

The British Loins tour is the third biggest "sporting*" event in the world.

*Although rugby is not a sport, which is why I put the inverted commas in.

The Lions tour is a heritage event with plenty going for it but it's not above the RWC. To quote above "the one everybody dreams of playing in and winning" Well how can it be? the Frence, Argies, Italians, etc. are ineligible so they aren't dreaming of winning it.

The "saga" goes on. Surely one of the most impotent political responses of all time from Eds.

"I feel respect when I see a white van"

I think Ed is going for the political version of death by a thousand paper cuts.

Hey, a non-story about some mug of an English MP but all the same, where is the perspective, common sense and backbone to these people? I think Russell Brand has it right, its time for revolutionary politics. Darwinism and survival of the fittest does not apply to politics, these people are not the cream of society but bottom feeders leeching off big business, pound signs, crooks and spooferism, the majority are promoted to the level of their incompetence and would probably struggle to do a proper days work in the real world.

Probably better that this excuse of an MP packed her bags. She offered her resignation to David Milliband on their second conversation...! I'd say most people I know would fancy themselves in a disagreement with David Milliband. She really needs to get a grip and dig those heels in, take a leaf out of our wans book and refuse to apologise or feck all... The Unionists in the occupied 6 think their British culture is being eroded, there is an even bigger crisis of confidence on the "mainland" and it isn't going away any time soon.

Falcao won't be fit for 2 weeks. Apart from Di Maria, the rest of the new signings have all been crocked with injuries, with Blind being the latest. How much game time have Shaw, Herrera, Rojo and Falcao missed between them this season?...Talented he may be, but there must surely be doubts even at this stage, about United making the Falcao move permanent next summer. So far, the Falcao project has been a hugely expensive shambles.

Yes but he hit the crossbar that time against Leicestar and has since scored so he's clearly world class.

I still think Utd can take Arsenal tomorrow, Arsenal are spineless, the sight of Rooney alone should make about 6 of them throw in the towel before ko

For those of you so inclined there was a very interesting interview with Damien Comolli on the Newstalk sports show yesterday. Should be on podcast and definitely worth a listen if you are a LFC and THFC fan. Very interesting guy.

Comolli is a bluffer who tried to put moneyball into practice at liverpool and failed miserably with downing and carroll among his acquisitions. He got a job at Arsenal after discovering Clichy, got big jobs at Spurs and Pool off that, you would get more sense out of a packet of top trumps playing cards

Anyone got a HUGE slice of Humble Pie??

Fair play to Omagh, a lot of things fell their way Against Cross but they took full advantage and another good win today. They were in complete control of the game and never looked like loosing today. Probably will win Ulster now. They'll grow some confidence from these wins.

1. Dare I say they could win 3 or 4 Tyrone Championships in a row now???
2. They seemed to have gotten quite "mouthy" with opponents
3. Does this prove that with proper preparation Tyrone teams could fair better in Ulster???

1. No chance, the  competition is far too competitive
2. I get the impression verbals are part and parcel at the top level sadly
3. Absolutely yes
