All for Australia getting it but why England?  They've had it before as well as a Euros and then had the bulk of a very recent euros.  Numerous countries should be ahead of England in the queue

To be fair England tick a lot of boxes when it comes to Stadiums, transport, infrastructure, policing. English people are football mad which also helps.

I wasn't  rooting for England to get it but  they were clearly better equipped to  stage it than Qatar

I mean England have  lots of 40k+ stadia. And the transport, infrastructure, hotels, etc etc  built around that. Qatar didn't even  have any stadia (bar one) , so wouldn't have had the infrastructure around the stadia either

Anyway,  staging the WC in a smaller country like England makes more sense  than say Australia, USA etc , as there's lots of grounds within short distances.  The 2026 tournament will involve massive  travelling  and expenses for fans.  England wouldn't as much as buses, trains are  able to get fans  to matches

2026 will not be friendly for travelling fans. It will also have a brutally boring group stage.

Jesus surprised there's so much support for a world cup in England.  May as well have it there every year.

Every year? Last one was 66, no?

Would be handy to get to.  And they still wouldn't win.

We know it should not be in Qatar but the people moaning about it are getting boring too.

They haven't had a world cup since 1966 and the Euro's was near 30 years ago.  Considering the number of stadiums, infrastructure, support that would be there etc. then they definitely due a chance at hosting another one.  Qatar shouldn't have got it, neither should Russia.  England should get it before Australia.

It's about opening new markets to football and sponsors and of course lining the pockets of FIFA officials. Qatar, Australia, Canada ticks those boxes. England or the UK certainly doesn't.

Egypt is a real  soccer market with an established league. I think they have a player at Liverpool. They have stadia and infrastructure and they are in the Middle East. But they don't have any money.
Qatar won because Platini and 3 others voted for them.
