10 votes swung it. Not much considering how late Leavy left it.
The real glory is being knocked to your knees and then coming back. That's real glory. VinceLombardi

Wonderful to see Fergal Byron get the Coaching Officers role. A good step for the county and hopefully the start of newer younger blood getting involved on the County Board.

Yeah. One positive from last night. I suppose it's a tough job he has ahead of him. The whole underage scene in the county has fallen into disrepair.

Best of luck to Peter on his appointment, not an easy job ahead of him .

For what?

My position was very clear from the day of the vote ---

'It'll be close, Leavy has all the momentum and at the right time.

Personally I think it much of a muchness whoever wins. I don't see either changing the face of Laois GAA dramatically but best of luck to whoever does win because its not an easy job. '

Listen lads, I said it wasn't an easy job when he got it.

Just wanted to belatedly congratulate my clubman Fergal on having the courage to go for the Coaching Officer role and then getting it.
He has a tough job ahead but from talking to him he won't be faulted for effort.
Well I could keep it above
But then it wouldn't be sky anymore

See that Michael Duignans 5 year term as Offaly chairman has finished ,He has left the Faithful Countys hurling and Football teams in better shape than he found them is there any hope that we could unearth a Michael Duignans type in our county that will improve the fortunes of our teams or are we to settle for the mediocre candidates that put their names forward year after year. After 140 years of the Gaa been founded we are division 2 team in hurling lumped with the likes of Carlow westmeath and the  and a division 3 football team lumped with Leitrim And the likes

Verbal

Is there any reporting of the convention anywhere?

SpeculativeEffort

How do we just accept that the county board runs its affairs in secret in this day and age? If they were running things well there would be openness and transparency. Instead we have old school fear of the media or anything modern.

georgedoylesrightleg

wen uve clubs not even turnin up for convention mabe the problem not wit the cb but wit the clubs

SpeculativeEffort

That doesn't refute my point. It's merely making a completely different one and assuming there's only one problem.

Disenfranchised clubs is another sign of a dysfunctional CB. Good point.
