hows she cutting

I've had a gmail address for 2 years now.

Was doing a bit of laptop maintenance a few weeks ago and uninstalled a few programmes which I thought i didn't need (I'm not very good with computer)

Anyway since doing this cleanup I've not been able to view my gmail account on standard view but only have access to basic html view???

Also affects my use of hotmail and a few other sites, this one included.

Can anyone give me any pointers as to how to go about fixing this?
I've tried to download google chrome as this was advice gmail give on the web but I can't even do this as when i click on download the screen doesn't advance to start the download

any help greatly appreciated

According to the Gmail site, standard view should work automatically on a supported browser. Sounds like something like Flash is not installed on your PC. Run Windows Update, it should bring your PC up to date

Go to either the Tools or Options tab, can't remember which. Windows Update should be one of the options.
