Watched this last night, I was born in mid 80s so was quite young when troubles were finishing up thankfully but the show would make you angry with how some of the families where treated.Really inhuman how you could go into someone's home to tell them their husband/father has been shot dead for no other reason than his association to a sport and ask why the child is crying.Similar to the loughinisland case where the police were clearly involved in collision.

Quote from: Captain Scarlet on April 25, 2024, 10:50:44 AMSpending big on Van Djik and Allison was neccesary and they were class acts, but the lads up top cost a fair few quid and are hit and miss.

Nunez was massive money and can't be trusted. Gakpo, Diaz and Jota also were not cheap. The finishing is what's killing Liverpool in recent times.

At the back Konate is just not good enough but they didn't ever look at buying decent cover when Gomez and Matip are walking sick notes. At the time there was a the big crisis the lure of Klopp could have got a solid player in on frees or short term.

I know Klopp doesn't have City's money but the spending has not been great.
Diaz and Jota have provided excellent value for money and both would be sold for substantial profit if they moved on in summer.

Jury still out on Nunez and Gakpo(who I don't believe is good enough to be a regular starter if everyones fit).  Nunez  I thought in the earlier part of the season was coming good but much like liverpool his season seems to have petered out.

Quote from: Blackandblue2 on April 22, 2024, 10:37:57 AMSo whats the chances this weekend? Anyone giving us a punchers chance?

I see the game isn't being televised? On BBc or Rte?
Has this every happened for a Ulster semi final before, why would all games including prelim be on and not the Semi final?

Is it expected to be 1 sided and not worth the viewing?

GAAGO are showing it
Where would you pick up the game in Belfast City Centre?
Nancy Mulligan's, Castle Street will have it.
Thanks!

Quote from: lurganblue on April 05, 2024, 02:58:03 PMGet Southgate locked in for next season  ;)
Is he really that bad an appointment compared to ETH? The number of shots that United concede is absolutely shocking and this mainly due to the gaps between defence, midfield and up front so easy to play through. Southgate would  have them a more stable outfit and has got big performances from Rashford in the past.  Could be possibly get a tune out of Sancho?

so has Ten Hag, so what!
The relationship with ETH and Rashford is clearly fractured and I doubt he will regain any type of form with him at the helm.  Southgate is certainly a better option than ETH at this stage.

Played through by a championship team at the weekend but sure just stick with him hes doing a great job.

Selby seems in a poor place mentally which not good to see talking of packing it in.Despite having his own tough time be difficult for anyone to warm to carter.

Quote from: Mourne Red on April 17, 2024, 08:00:25 PMNot too confident tonight - Think Odegaard will show up tonight as he always does but think still a bit of inexperience in the side that will see Bayern through. Hopefully I'm proved wrong mind

Well I was on the money.. Absolutley shocking performances out there tonight. Tomiasyu, Odegaard and Reya only players who turned up tonight
saka jumping into the keeper last week when was easier to score proved big moment in tie.

The whole Sterling fiasco makes this even worse after him getting the peno and missing.

Quote from: Armamike on April 15, 2024, 10:21:14 AMLiverpool have been wasteful all season given the amount of chances created.  The stats show the conversion rate is around 10th in the league.  But it's gone to new levels in the past 3 or 4 games. It's probably got into the players' heads now. Would like to see young Danns get a start or at least a chance to come on in the remaining games. The current front 3 don't deserve a start.  Unless he's carrying an injury or still recovering from injury, Salah looks done.  If he's not able to contribute anything during the crunch stage of the season then it is time to move him on.

100%

If there's one trait with Liverpool it's the finishing. It's been a problem for a while and I hate to be critical but we haven't spent wisely to fix the problem. Darwin,Gapko and Dias are all over the place in front of goals. Salah has been bad since injury which renders them toothless up front. Jesus I am starting to wish we held on to solanke now looking at his season.
Diaz has 9 goal involvements in last 10 games so think he still justifies a place in team.Jota should start through middle on Thursday night.

Quote from: SouthOfThe Bann on April 12, 2024, 10:39:55 AMSome comments a bit disrespecting towards Atalanta here.

This is a side which have hit close to 100 goals in Serie A just a couple of seasons ago. Something unheard of in the league. Hit over 90 another season.

Not going as well as they were but Gasperini is a top class coach.

Should Klopp have given them some more respect then?
He should have three changes in back 4 and 6 overall wasn't required.

Quote from: 93-DY-SAM on April 12, 2024, 09:01:11 AMLiverpool shit the nest last night. Are the wheels all about to fall off?

I wouldn't think so, Atalanta gave a blueprint on a method of beating Liverpool but ypu'd need certain players and different factors to apply that.

Atalanta were not impressive though but just took the opportunities that Liverpool coughed up

I expect Palace to get thumped at the weekend and the banners will be the edge that wins it! Who knew?
Atalanta first team to win at Anfield in 14 months and they weren't impressive?

Not really, Liverpool coughed up to clangers from the keeper and got caught out from losing position a few times, very unlike Liverpool, but hey if you think they were impressive that's ok
Liverpool have scored a ridiculous amount of goals this season so to keep a clean sheet alone is impressive never mind scoring three goals.
