They simply don't have the numbers to cover for injury and rest.
They don't have the luxury of bringing on a Jack mc Caffrey or  Michael Darragh for the last 20.

Dublin compared to any of the others have the quality players to pick two teams from.

So, is it a numbers game or a money game?

Well both.
If you are given funds to develop the game you can coach 20 players for the same amount as 10.
I heard on the RTE podcast that Dublin spent approx 7 million on their seniors last year.
The nearest to this was Cork.
6.2 million I think.
However 40 percent of Corks was on travelling expenses alone.

Ok so why are Dublins hurlers not doing what Limerick are doing with their money and less numbers that Dublin?

Had an accident couple of years ago, nothing bad but that'd down to luck maybe, but coming out of a junction on to a road, I seen the car come over hill on my right, I looked left to see nothing coming other way and once I seen the car pass me on my right I pulled (slowly) out onto the road, right into the car that was behind the car I'd seen!

The young lad near shit himself, I pushed his car onto the verge and pinned it against hedge, thankfully it was early doors and no other traffic came at us either way.

My fault entirely, thankfully no one hurt and the I took his details and the insurance covered everything, I never knew if he put in for damages or not I was just happy it didn't result in nothing more.

The point is, you can be as careful as you want, but those junctions that have limited or short viewing time to allow you out on to the road will result in a crash at some point. But the speed of driving is what brings it to a level were life is at risk

Has the money been going into Dublin equally across all codes and genders?

I assume it has, and if so, why is it that the senior male footballers are the only ones with continued success?

I know the ladies did well, and maybe that has turned them around as before that period they only won one.

But with regards to hurling and Camogie Dublin's last win was in 1984 and they were a brilliant team back in the 60's, but nada since and the senior hurlers haven't been to a final since 61

I've been done many times with the cameras over the years, no excuse, speeding and wrong, do I blame the camera for being there? No that's all on me. Anyone that thinks they can speed 'safely' is crazy

If they put the average speed cameras on the road would it make it safer? Wouldn't know the stats on the accidents  in regards to speeding, carelessness, recklessness and so on, but in the meantime till its sorted it needs some attention.

What stage is it at with planning and at what point will they government say we've taken into considerations your issues of not having it but we are going ahead with it anyways?

I've looked at certain sports/sport stars over the years and thought they were boring twats, in snooker ya had Steve Davis and Stephen Hendry, just machines at the time and focused on nothing else, Golf/tennis was the same with the newer generation, but since Netflix has done various inside documentary type shows its really brought about a different perspective on these sports and sportsmen/women, in a more positive light

Not that I think Netflix will go near snooker just yet as the global appeal might not be there.

One thing that stands out from  encountering  the coalisland (or east Tyrone ) accent ,  is pronuncing O'Neill as  Nail. eg. Stephen Nail instead of Stephen O'Neill.

So we have already apportioned blame in the most recent fatalities to the deceased because of their age? 

The three prior fatal collisions have claimed 5 lives, all over the age of 30. The road in its current form is simply unfit for purpose.

No one is blaming age all the, but don't let that get in the way of your post. This reason for this accident is unknown, a single car accident involving teenagers. I don't know anyone that is against making this road safer.

But having suggestions in general about car safety and driving sensibly can also happen separately 

Well the two proceeding posts both coincidentally referenced further speed restrictions on young drivers, that is not going to quell the fatality rate on the A5.

No one said it would and speed restrictions on young drivers should be for up and down the country and not just the A5

Laois definitely have the winning of this tournament in them, but would wait till after the win before getting Antrim.

Carlow have done really well considering no points but have not shipped the heavy defeat that Antrim had last week so when we meet our advantage is a home game against them.

Dublin are not going to take us lightly either so would take an even bigger result away from home to gain third for us.

Absolutely, the team needs to stay focused on the tournament in hand. Us fans can merely speculate though!
The Laois V Kerry match on Saturday is the springboard game to coast into the final. For Offaly, every game for them going forward is knockout with their biggest threat in the form of Kerry at Tullamore later this month. These two games will really decide the Joe McDonagh Cup.
If we lose this Saturday and Offaly beat Kerry on May 19th then we are in a dog-fight with Westmeath in the last round - a dogfight in Mullingar is really where we don't want to be.
A vital game this Saturday coming up.

Been a great competition which has not been given much credit or attention, while winning it wont propel you to tier one status, it moves you into a competitive tier two level and that where you want to be
