D'ye know where we went recently and really enjoyed - Hilden Brewery in Lisburn. You can go for a brewery tour first and then have dinner in the lovely restaurant. We had a great wee evening in it. And if you like craft beers, you'll love it. Right beside Hilden train halt - just get train back into town then to continue the night.

Jesus that and a plate of eels and the Loughshore hallions would be salivating.

The menu is tight but there's nothing there you wouldn't want. Salt baked beetroot, Lough Neagh eel, oyster and squid ink, Portavogie scallop, wild garlic, haddock and cured yolk, grilled mackerel, Bayonne ham, spring leek and chervil root, all among the starters give you an idea of the gear change this bistro has made.

£16 for a couple of pollan? Sweet Jesus, expensive for a bit of pike bait these days.

Might not be the best thread for this but see how it goes.

Where could one watch premier league football on a Sat in Belfast? The match is on Setanta Ireland.

QuotePorterhouse on the lisburn rd  is the best place to eat in Belfast,

I've been to the Porterhouse twice, once with friends a while after it opened and Christmas dinner with work.  Quite possibly the worst restaurant in Belfast and I've yet to hear a good report from anyone I've met who has been there.  All the steaks were like leather and the desserts for those that had them were also sent back.  Atrocious.  Don't say you weren't warned.

Shu is excellent btw.
