I really like it. Very gritty with some real comedic moments definitely worth a watch!

The wife works for a US company and gets paid in dollars and has had something like a 20% payrise since Christmas just with the fx rate . . . she's only part time though so trying to get her to up the hours!!!!

My fixed rate ends in exactly 2 years. Expecting bad things, but maybe it will have settled down then.

Same as that. . . might have to increase the term to keep repayments down but fingers crossed things will settle at that stage!

Joyce won well but don't think he's anywhere near elite at that weight.

Has a granite chin, be interesting to see how he goes. Thinks he gives anyone of the top 3 a serious fight

Donovan lucky to get the win in Belfast tonight

Not sure he’s Championship level would have him 5th behind the big boys.

Looking forward to him taking on one of the big guns though. Hard to believe he was fighting someone 7 years his junior and was the one setting the pace of the fight. Parker is a certain level but is no dozer and has never been knocked out I hope Joyce can step up.

The Stamp Duty cut is blatant cronyism.

Scrapping bankers bonus cap . . . Scrapping the rise in corporation tax... all cronyism!

I could go on... the net effect of all the cuts is the increase in price we'll have to pay for energy given how much STG has tanked against the Dollar!!

If you read about fraud cases that have gone to court they’ve generally taken place over years and often decades.

So why weren’t the banks indicted as co conspirators?

individuals in banks can commit fraud, as can customers and so can individuals in regulators and auditors... they can also be negligent. there can be a combinations of those individuals can work together to commit fraud etc.

Regulators have fined banks many times, normally for breachs of regs. there will be a new senior executive accountability regime regulation being introduced in Ireland soon making it easier to take actions against individuals within regulated entities.. Michael fingleton would be a good example of someone who oversaw poor controls and governance in irish nationwide of you want to Google him.

I have worked for companies that have been subject to SEC investigations and enforcement actions

The current head of compliance at our company is the former chief enforcement officer for the SEC

I just don’t  see how inflating property prices when applying for loans and deflating them for tax purposes is a criminal matter. Every real estate developer on Gods green earth does it and has been doing it for centuries

Now all of a sudden these valuations are problematic.

Watch The Big Short if you think that something like this can’t happen repeatedly over the course of a number of years with regulators and banks turning a blind eye to the practice… given the catastrophe we faced during the crash in the late 2000s none of this should come as anything resembling a surprise.

The banking system up until the point was a shambles and it wouldn’t be surprising if there aren’t some “legacy issues” around the big boyos like Trumper!!

Did the actual AG not complete a fairly exhaustive look into the Clinton Foundation only to find nothing?

Surely the State AG has found something on Trump and is bringing it to court??

Is there a huge difference?

So following that logic a local state (Republican) AG should now reopen that investigation and pursue civil charges (interesting)

Why would the investigation be reopened if it didn't find anything?

From my reading of it James has been investigating this for 3 years and is bringing charges based on what has been found?
