Do people not realise that children use this site, Jesus Christ its becomming a site where people post website addresses for adult material.

For some reason that post of Stalin's was only reported today, 5 years later and Stalin banned for over 3 of those years. I've removed his posts.

If players personal lives start appearing then bans will start, common sense.

GAA Discussion / Common Sense
June 10, 2011, 11:48:19 AM
Can you all please use common sense when posting, while posters may have the view "live by the sword....." we don't. Personal lives of players, posters, managers, administrators etc etc are a no go area.

We do reply on posters to report things since we don't read every thread or post, or something may be more obvious to posters from a particular county. We'll judge things as they come in and if you are unsure about posting something then don't post it.

It is very easy to post a duplicate thread topic, and is very understandable. People should, wherever possible, keep similar threads together, but this is sometimes not
possible, or the other threads not seen. Again, perfectly understandable. This rule is in place to stop people deliberately and constantly posting spurious or similar threads,
and blatantly disregarding the wishes of the GAA board community to keep these threads together.

Penalties. If a pattern of posting these threads emerges from an individual, a Warning will be given.
Further offences will incur a 2 Day Ban, followed by a 5 Day Ban. Subsequent offences will incur repeated 5 Day Bans.

For those enjoying some friendly banter regarding last nights game by starting new threads on it, I'd like to bring your attention to the above rule. Not everyone who uses the board cares about last nights game, so don't feel inclined to ruin the GAA Board experience for them.

Also while it hasn't happened yet I'm sure we all intend to keep the slagging light hearted and won't allow it to decent into the gutter like it has in the past forcing us to have to intervene.

Appreciated

Lads a reminder

2. Libellous/insulting posts about a real person
In this day and age, many more people are becoming aware of the existance of boards such as this. While this is generally a good thing, it also means that the posts are
more likely to be read by a casual visitor to the site. In these circumstances, the board must protect itself against allegations of libel, or defamation and so any posts
which make derogatory remarks about a named, or clearly implied, individual, are a serious breach of the rules, and dangerous to the board itself. This particularly applies
to individuals' private lives, finances, legal issues etc etc. This also applies to unwarranted abuse of GAA players and officials.

I removed this thread. For posters who seem to think the membership of this forum gives them some sort of freedom I refer them to the first thread on each of the individual forums. While at times we can let a lot go other times we need to take action to ensure some sort of decency exists on the board.

In relation to the "how many scumbags can you get into a Subaru" thread, some mother and father are burying their son this week, have some decency about it.

GAA Discussion / IMPORTANT! - GAA forum to split
April 01, 2010, 06:47:38 PM
Hi all,

After consultation between the mods and admin, we have taken the decision to close the main GAA forum and instead create 32 separate GAA sub-forums, one for each county.

This decision was not taken lightly, but it's in the best interests of everybody concerned with the GAA. We are expecting a very tough summer ahead and we feel this is the best way to combat this. The rules will remain the same across all county forums, with one exception.

All posters will only be allowed to read and post in their own county forum. So for example if a poster is from Kerry, that person will only have access to the Kerry GAA forum. If said poster tries to access the Dublin GAA forum he or she will be dealt with by the mods in due course. The type of punishment is still under review but may involve public humiliation.

We understand that this will mean our loyal posters from places like Silgo and Tyrone may find it difficult since their forum may not be particularly busy, but it is the only way to ensure things don't get out of hand in the future. We are looking to keep any type of inter-county debates to an absolute minimum and we feel this is the best option we have.

The process of assigning posters to each subforum will begin tomorrow morning

Regards,

The GAA mod team

General discussion / Re: Regarding "Scum" thread
November 23, 2009, 11:39:22 PM
Obviously a fruitless exercise leaving this open, I was hardly looking for the debate to continue on this thread.

The original thread was clearly inappropriate and will not be tolerated, regardless if some posters consider it too PC. Our board our rules.

This type of thread will not be tolerated here, completely inappropriate and lacking any sort of taste.
