Fairly sure Sean Kelly isn't eligible for the 20's this season. Varley is another good addition too.

Players who probably wouldn't get a chance will certainly get game time during the league given the amount of players missing.

rosnarun

just an opinion this is bascily the way it was last year may well be changes this year
1. Rob Hennelly - Breaffy. (Wont play)  will push very hard his kick outs are top notch
2. Eoin O'Donoghue - Belmullet(unlikely to play)will be very close esp before every one comes back
3. Ger Cafferkey - Ballina Stephenites(wont play) wont see too much action
4. Caolan Crowe - Garrymore(wont play)like odonohue and time for him to piss or get off the pot versatility could win him a place
5. Colm Boyle - Davitts(player) may see less action this year
6. Paddy Durcan - Castlebar Mitchels(Captain)(player)now a top player
7. James Stretton - Claremorris(wont play) probably not this year
8. Stephen Coen - Hollymount/Carramore(part player)agreed beeds to find one role to claim hopefully CHB
9. Danny Kirby - Castlebar Mitchels(wont play)moore of a part player
10. Fionn McDonagh - Westport(unlikey to play)) could well be this years find very impressive yesterday
11. Diarmuid O'Connor - Ballintubber(player )agreed
12. Conor O'Shea - Breaffy(unlikey to play )again need to find a spot quick may be a bed blocker
13. Neil Douglas - Castlebar Mitchels(unlikey to play)could bee too late for him got could a lot in possession but showed very well
14. Jason Doherty - Burrishoole(player)agreed now one of mayos big players
15. Ciaran Treacy - Ballina Stephenites(unlikely to play) not sure had a howler of a 14 yard fre but cam back well Corner forward are rotated more than others so may get a chance
If you make yourself understood, you're always speaking well. Moliere

Any Galway view on John Prenty forcing this total dead rubber to go ahead on Sunday rather than making it the final and saving both sides having to spend their one free weekend in the next month or two at this shíte? He's also refused to switch it to Saturday or Friday night, which was requested as it's a direct clash with Michael Glaveys Inter AISF in Tullamore. Any Roscommon supporters who are travelling Sunday won't be going towards Tuam so it's hard to see him making much money out of this arrangement..

Cunny Funt

When this new FBD format was brought in the simple thing to do was to give the cup to the team that finishes top of the group and the Connacht minor league was won in that way.

MayoBuck

There's a good chance the Connacht Council will end up losing money this way. Supporters won't have much interest going to a dead rubber game this week or going to an FBD game in the middle of the NFL. It'll be a nuisance for players and management too having their one free weekend in February taken up.

Corofin also playing in London on Sunday at 1pm and Sylane are in a junior hurling semi final on Sunday, load of crap forcing teams to play twice with the crazy schedule coming up between league, Sigerson etc. I see the Connacht Council are using the protection of the integrity of the competition as an excuse, where was this concern for the competition integrity when they made Galway play 2 games in 3 days and Mayo 3 games in 5 days in atrocious conditions?

Rossfan

Crazy schedule is right.
Ros will have played 10 games by 4th March!!!
They will have 2 more games in March and hopefully a D2 final on 1st April -13 games before the ground dries out.
They could then only have 3 more games by 1st July and if we feck up then that's it.
Club Championship will probably have 1 round in April and 4 in August.

It's crazy for sure. But not surprising.
Common sense doesn't seem to come into decisions with the Connacht Council.

Rudi

Roscommon should have done a Mayo on it and put out their 3rd team and treat this balls of a competition with the respect it deserves.

Maroon Manc

All thats going to happen next month is Kevin Walsh will game time the lads who've not seen much game time in the previous league games and to some of the u20's.  The same goes for McStay.

Its ridiculous though as the final is down for the same weekend as the Sigerson Cup final. Absolutely no need for an FBD final under the new format, everyone gets their 4 games and thats enough.

This tournament, or at least the matches it provides, is very important for the fringe players trying to make the cut. Whether as challenge or AvB games we'd be playing just as many matches in January regardless. Prenty's self-serving addition of a separate final and his unwillingness to move Sunday's game is scandalous, however.

This is the same guy who refused a postponement of Kilmore's Connacht championship match despite them playing the county final the day before and their club president dying that night, so it's hardly surprising.

This would be a great time to boycott the final and hurt prenty in the pocket.  Only way he will get the message, listen to it on the radio and hit him where it hurts.  It really is a dumb greedy move on their part so why not stay home and send a message.

Makes no sense..
I used to be indecisive but now I'm not too sure.

Rossfan

I won't be going to Tuam anyway.
With the Final in the Hyde I can't not go to it.
